Position Summary
Western Resource Advocates (WRA) is hiring an Extended Day Ahead Market (EDAM) Fellow. This position will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the development of business practices and market rules in the day-ahead electricity market offering from the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). This market is known as the Extended Day Ahead Market or EDAM. Specifically, the Fellow will track the CAISO EDAM implementation plan, with a focus on three market policy elements – greenhouse gas accounting, transmission use and access, and market performance. This position will be responsible for: (1) understanding the components of the EDAM tariff recently approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and identifying corresponding EDAM business process rules development efforts; (2) identifying where proposed business practices or market rules deviate from WRA’s public interest goals and principles; and (3) develop a roadmap for WRA’s future engagement. These work products will inform WRA’s advocacy strategy related to energy market and transmission expansion issues to ensure public interest goals are sustained. This is a 1-year fellowship. This position will start on or after January 6, 2025.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
1. Analyze and summarize state bills for impact on CHCs and recommend action to the Policy Director and the Public Affairs Committee.
2. Create fact sheets, materials, and other collateral to support lobbying efforts.
3. Support CCHN priority bills when needed, in collaboration with the CCHN contract lobbyist and the CCHN policy team.
4. Represent CCHN and CHC interests at stakeholder meetings and share information with the policy team and CHCs, as appropriate.
5. Direct the CCHN Policy and Issues Forum annually (CCHN’s training and Hill Day) for CHC staff and board members and help lead CCHN’s participation in the national Policy & Issues Forum.
6. Maintain connections to Colorado’s U.S. Senators and Representatives and their health policy staff, and support CHCs in meeting regularly to keep our Congressional
delegation updated about federal priorities.
7. Have or develop expertise and serve as a resource to others on topics such as: Medicaid, integrated health care, 340B, Community Health Centers, value-based care, the legislative and regulatory process in Colorado and federally, and more.
8. Establish strong working relationships with health center staff, partners, and other CCHN staff to offer training/technical assistance, problem solve and move projects forward.
9. Lead or support board committees and CHC peer groups, as assigned.

Qualifications

Working Environment and Physical Activities

The salary for this position is $65,000. WRA’s excellent benefits package includes a 401(k)-retirement plan with up to 5% matching and health, dental, vision, and life & disability insurance with 100% of premiums paid by WRA. Annually, staff receive seventeen days paid vacation leave to start, twelve paid sick days, one paid volunteer day, twelve paid holidays, and WRA is closed for Winter Break between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day for additional paid time off. Employees are eligible for up to twelve weeks of parental leave, and after five years, staff are eligible for up to twelve weeks of paid sabbatical leave. Position is full-time exempt.

What You’ll Be Doing:
1) Provide advocacy-based support and education to youth and youth-facing agencies.
• Coordinate and facilitate various psychoeducation presentations on the dynamics of domestic violence and healthy relationships to students and professionals in several middle schools and high schools.
• Support students and youth in the school setting for various crisis intervention, resourcing, and advocacy-related needs as survivors or secondary-survivors of domestic violence.
• Facilitate other partnership opportunities such as cross training, tabling events, or other activities benefiting youth survivors and those they engage with.
2) Promote and foster partnerships for the Youth Advocacy Program.
• Sit on and engage with various multidisciplinary teams related to anti-violence work with youth.
• Identify and connect with youth-serving agencies for potential partnerships, both on the community and systems side (i.e. Department of Youth Corrections).
3) Participate in all required staff meetings and supervision
4) Support SafeHouse Denver’s Community Program efforts: Participate in tabling, community education, and other community-facing events and projects related to general domestic violence awareness.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Under the direction of North Emergency Shelter, our Advocates provide case management services to victims of domestic violence that include crisis intervention, intake services, individual emotional support, advocacy and crisis line support. Our Advocates are adept at handling crisis situations and working with diverse populations.
Floating Advocates will be available to fill in shifts when staff members are on vacation or out sick or when shifts are open. Shifts can be for a variety of hours and time shifts.

About Western Landowners Alliance (WLA): Founded in 2012 by landowners and managers, the organization aims to increase the wellbeing of working lands in the American West and the living communities, including human and wildlife, that depend on them.
Position Overview: The policy director will work with organizational leadership, members and partners to identify policy priorities, and to develop and execute strategies to achieve policy goals. This will include representing the organization in outreach efforts to Capitol Hill, the federal executive branch, state and local government leaders, and other key stakeholders. Envision:You, an initiative of Mental Health Colorado, the state’s leading advocate for Healthier Minds Across the Lifespan is seeking a Vice President to oversee the initiative’s day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader and coach, capable of working on strategic, managerial, and hands-on levels to guide the Envision:You initiative across both programmatic and administrative functions. This individual will bring extensive nonprofit management experience with expertise in community-based programs, education, advocacy, operations, or related fields. The position reports to the Executive Vice President for Community Partnerships and Outreach.
Key performance expectations for this role include leadership and vision, in which the Vice President will inspire and lead the team toward Envision:You’s mission and goals. Requirements:
● A minimum of 7 years of operations management experience in a nonprofit environment and a graduate degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred. 10+ years preferred.

● An understanding of how trauma impacts traditionally marginalized individuals and communities and
