Alumni Navigator
The Alumni Navigator provides case management, resource navigation, and coaching services for families moving out of and formerly residing in one of Warren Village’s campuses. This position requires strength-based assessment and planning with families in transition, utilization of community resources, and interventions with individuals that result in personal growth and self-sufficiency. Services include conducting alumni program intake, goal planning, resource and referral, and problem solving. Additionally, the Alumni Navigator will specialize in housing and workforce-related support for Warren Village alumni and provide support for the success of the Alumni Program overall, including timely, accurate record keeping and data entry.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Case Management and Resource Navigation
- Conduct transition meetings with residents exiting one of Warren Village’s housing programs, including attending transition meetings with current Family Advocate. Provide orientation to the Alumni Program, as well as provide outreach and support at 30 and 90 days, post move out.
- Utilize trauma-sensitive coaching and 2Gen orientation in work with participants.
- Link alumni with existing community resources and systems that provide them with support, services, and opportunities to assist them moving towards economic and personal self-sufficiency, exhibiting resourcefulness, and ensuring proper referrals are made in collaboration with internal and external resources.
- Provide short-term case management and navigation services for alumni families experiencing crisis or requesting additional ongoing support (may include home visits), particularly with a strong focus on supporting alumni in maintaining their housing, including staying informed of, and sharing housing-related resources and opportunities.
- Maintain a keen sense of emotional intelligence, reliability, and flexibility to navigate complex issues at any given time without judgement. Assists participants through problem solving, direct support, and intervention, as necessary.
- Mobility Mentoring Coaching Program
- Conduct detailed Economic Mobility Bridge assessments to identify each family’s strengths and needs.
- Utilize Economic Mobility Bridge assessments to coach alumni in setting SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) goals related to upward economic mobility, including housing; budgeting; career and education; childcare; health care; and more.
- Utilizing Motivational Interviewing and a healing/trauma-Informed approach, coach alumni to develop plans in alignment with their goals and accomplish desired outcomes, initiating contact at 6-, 12- and 18- and 24-months intervals post move-out to offer support and to check on alumni progress towards goal completion and document progress on individualized plans.
- Alumni Program Support and Evaluation
- Ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry into data management systems and use data to evaluate effectiveness of program and drive decision-making.
- Support alumni leadership opportunities as needed.
- Assist with alumni engagement opportunities such as Alumni Network meetings, Holiday Shop, and Back to School Drive.
- Support administration of the annual alumni survey and other administrative support as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Commitment to the mission, goals, and values of Warren Village.
- Technology systems aptitude. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills encompassing conflict resolution and crisis management, with adaptive problem-solving abilities in dynamic environments.
- Ability to form empathic, respectful, and non-judgmental relationships while maintaining professional boundaries in all interactions.
- Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and confidentiality, while also being independent and initiative-taking, collaborative, creative, and accountable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (AA) from two-year college or technical school, in Social Work, Human Services, or Education or 4+ years of work experience in one or more of these fields may be substituted for education.
- Experience in case management, direct homeless services or working with low-income families.
- Paid experience working in a nonprofit agency.
Preferred education, eligibility requirements (Certifications, Licenses, etc.), and/or experience:
- Lived experience in homelessness or housing instability, including an alum of Warren Village.
- Bachelor’s (BA) degree or Master’s (MA) degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or related field.
- Experience providing case management and/or navigation services preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, French, Arabic or Swahili (oral and written).
- Experience working with culturally diverse people.
- If driving is required, employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive Warren Village vehicles.
Work Environment: The working environment is typically that of an office using a personal computer, adding machine, and other equipment.
Physical Demands: While performing the responsibilities of the position, must constantly be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 lbs. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. Frequently communicates information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must have the ability to observe details at close range.
