JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Gift Administration and Compliance, will be
responsible for: managing the review of
all gift and grant agreements, establishment of philanthropic funds, the
development and management of compliance projects, compliance coding, reporting
and audits, handling of special projects, as well as assisting in the data
management and reporting that impact data as it relates to gift administration
and compliance.
The position serves as a
liaison and partner with CU Gift Administration, University advancement and
finance staff, Foundation Finance & Accounting, as well as University and
Foundation legal teams, to support University advancement staff in the
establishment and utilization of philanthropic funds by the University.

Gift and Grant
Management
· Serve as the central resource and expert for all
gift and grant agreements on behalf of the Foundation, in close collaboration
with System Gift Administration and the General Counsel. This includes the
drafting, reviewing, revising and executing gift and grant agreements,
including facilitating the collaborative review of complex documents by
necessary Foundation and University staff.
· Develop and enhance processes and materials related
to gift and grant agreements.
· Work in close collaboration with System
Advancement’s Director of Gift Administration on the day-to-day functionality
of the departments, as well as overseeing and/or facilitating the training,
mentoring, and evaluation of the applicable Advancement and departmental staff.
Gift Compliance
· Develop and manage Foundation’s compliance program,
including processes related to the pre-and post-administration of donor gifts,
with a strong focus on systems to monitor the use of charitable gifts in
accordance with donor-designated terms and purposes.
· Review gift funds on a continuous basis to ensure they are coded
and captured in the system correctly and being utilized appropriately and
in-line with the fund’s purpose. Special
focus is given to underutilized, underfunded funds, funds with exceptions and
special handling requirements as well as funds in suspense.
· Develop and execute training and communication
materials for Foundation and University staff related to key Foundation
compliance policies and procedures as well as compliance codes and purpose
reports.
· Manage compliance tasks/projects in Ascend and Monday.com.
· Develop and manage compliance related projects, such as
proactive clean-up of data sets and fund maintenance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required
· Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent life, military
and/or professional experience
· A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a
related field
· Knowledge of gift administration and compliance for gift
agreements, gift acceptance, financial controls and accounting
· Experience in project and data management
· Proficient user of technology, particularly
Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred
· Minimum two years management and supervisory experience
· Two years of experience in a directly related field
· Degree in non-profit management or library science
· Background in non-profit management, fundraising, donor
relations, stewardship or other relevant nonprofit experience
