Residential Program Manager

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations of the residential program and managing the member experience operations, administrative responsibilities, and staffing of TGP’s micro-community site, which provides residential-style shelter to women and gender expansive individuals through a contract with Denver’s Office of Housing Stability (HOST). This includes responsibility for promoting the safety and stability of shelter guests, supporting the achievement of programmatic outcomes, and collaborating effectively with the case management team and other shelter staff to ensure a safe and dignified living environment. The program manager must operate with a broad understanding of the population’s various needs and an ability to create a safe and supportive environment for all shelter guests. The program manager will work closely with the facilities coordinator to ensure shelter maintenance needs are met.

Core Accountabilities:

•  Demonstrate respect, cultural humility, and knowledge of trauma informed care in interactions with shelter guests, staff, and collaborative partners.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant grants and program budget.
• Under supervision of and in collaboration with the Residential Program Director, develops and implements program      frameworks that support contractual outcomes and that align with TGP’s mission and values.
• Provide direct supervision to Resource Navigators on a routine and frequent basis, specifically through the lens of low barrier, trauma informed care, equity, and belonging.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels are always maintained onsite, to ensure the safety of shelter guests and staff, as well as appropriate levels of service. 
• Oversees and manages daily operations, including intake and discharge of shelter guests, meal service, daily support services, room checks, etc.
• Works to create a low-barrier, trauma-informed shelter environment for shelter guests.
• Works as a collaborative member of the shelter leadership team to achieve established goals and outcomes, maintain a safe environment, and to resolve issues.
• Identifies behaviors that are not in alignment with community guidelines and addresses them with shelter guests in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures all program documentation is being recorded. Routinely reviews all required documentation, reports, and logs and identifies and addresses issues as needed.
• Is knowledgeable about programs at TGP and in the community and makes appropriate referrals to ensure we are offering      our full range of support to meet the continuum of needs for shelter guests.
• Provide trauma-informed and supportive crisis intervention and de-escalation for individuals who may be experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges due to the impact of trauma, substance use and/or mental illness.
• Ensures staff and members are supported after a significant incident through a critical incident debrief or other intervention strategies.

Requirements:

• Previous shelter experience a plus.
• Weekend and after-hours availability required.
• Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation is a plus.
• Team management and supervision experience is essential. 
• Adaptability working in dynamic environments and dealing with a wide range of cases.
• Must have skills in crisis management, conflict management, and de-escalation.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Lived experience of homelessness, housing instability, or poverty is a plus.
• Strong understanding of harm reduction, low barrier, and trauma-informed care principles and skills.
• Ability to listen compassionately and suspend judgment to accommodate the needs of individuals and include them in a highly diverse setting.
• Ability to multi-task in a unique, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Current knowledge of how to operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a copy machine or printer, and office software, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other programs.
