Hours: 20-25 hours/ week (Monday – Friday); some weekends for field trips and events

Location: STEMblazers’ events and activities occur in Northern Colorado and Denver Metro; must be able to work 2 days per week in person in the Fort Collins office

Hourly Rate; Part Time: $34/hr – $38/hr

About STEMblazers

STEMblazers is a non-profit organization that inspires middle and high school girls to visualize themselves in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math careers and empowers them to pursue STEM professions. In addition, STEMblazers supports women 18 and older with career opportunities in the STEM workforce.

Our team members have a voice in shaping the organization, and our small size allows us to adapt quickly. As a team member, you would also regularly have the chance to meet women working in STEM industries and grow your own professional network.

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Program Manager to run and oversee our workforce program, which is aimed at women over 18. This individual will lead in planning, managing, expanding, and improving the program and its activities and carrying out essential operational duties.  

STEMblazers serves middle and high school girls and has recently strengthened opportunities for women over 18 with its workforce program. The workforce program offers short-term work opportunities with employers and provides mentoring and professional development in clean energy to close the gender gap and create a more diverse workforce. The program is offered in a cohort setting (both virtual and in-person), with three cohorts per year. 

Our program is rooted in developing strong community relationships, especially with workforce, industry, and community partners. The Program Manager will recruit and manage three participant groups: employers, mentors, and women/mentees. The Workforce program is offered in Northern Colorado and the Denver metro area. The program’s immediate goal is to increase the number of women served, expand our geographical reach, and build similar programs for additional STEM industries for our alumni who persist in STEM industries.

The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting an organizational culture that is consistent with orienting the team toward a “whole is greater than the sum of its parts” mindset model and ensuring alignment with STEMblazers’ vision, mission, core values, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion – Justice and Belonging goals.

To be a successful STEMblazers Program Manager, you must be able to shift from being relational (e.g., meeting with the HR team at a solar company) to being highly detailed (e.g., coordinating and scheduling group events), have experience with budgets and tracking data, and develop and manage relationships with multiple stakeholder groups.
