Executive Director

Summary:

The Part-Time Executive Director works closely with the working Board of Directors and their committees to establish and carry out the strategic direction of the organization. 

Responsibilities:

· Uses the strategic plan to lead and guide the organization’s work.  

· Develop effective policies and programs to support the organization’s mission. 

· Explain the organization’s purpose and programs to community partners, policy makers, supporters and public. 

· Administer standards and procedures related to budget, events, and activities.  

· Organize and execute fundraising to support the board’s work. Works with the treasurer to identify fundraising needs. 

· Organize and oversee all administrative responsibilities related to events and programs. 

· Guide marketing, communication, and public relations of the organization. 

· Identify and support contract employees and/or interns effectively. 

· Lead programs and events. 

  

Qualifications:

· Commitment to the Sportswomen of Colorado’s mission and vision. 

· Experience with non-profit organizations either as staff member or as involved board member. 

· Proven ability to build and strengthen relationships within an organization and the community it serves. 

· Strong organizational skills, ability to assess needs, and multi-task. 

· Proven ability to listen to all points of view. 

· Ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors. 

· Experience and comfort using media tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, etc. Experience with video editing software preferred. 

· Demonstrated successful leadership skills. 

· Demonstrated experience in fundraising, with emphasis on working with individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and long-term endowment funds. 

· Experience leading large events from start to finish. 

· A strong background and knowledge about athletics.
