Position Summary:

The Development Associate (LETR) will be responsible for assisting in planning events, fundraising, marketing, volunteer recruitment, engaging and recruiting law enforcement and community partners, and is responsible for administrative tasks within the Law Enforcement Torch Run Department (LETR).

Some of the LETR events that this individual would work on include:
Polar Plunge Series, Plane Pull, Tip-a-Cop Events, Tribute at the Capitol Torch Run, LETR Kick-Off Conference and more. 

Reports to: Event Manager (LETR) 

Position Responsibilities:

 · Administrative 

o Coordinate and carry out day-to-day administrative tasks for the LETR Department 

o Schedule and coordinate all LETR Executive Council meetings  

o Provide administrative support to the LETR team 

o Manage LETR Agency Success Form  

o Manage the LETR Constituent Database including up to date list of Colorado Chiefs, Sheriffs, and agencies  

o Responsible for LETR in-kind tracking 

o Manage the tracking and mailing of supplies to agencies including t-shirts, torches, posters and flyers, Tip-a-Cop kits, etc. 

o Manage LETR International Conference attendees including travel and accommodations, registration information, invoices, and payment 

 · Volunteer Management: 

o Responsible for recruiting and managing the volunteers for Polar Plunge and Plane Pull events 

· General: 

o Manage LETR’s social media presence and creation and delivery of monthly e-newsletter 

o Create collateral (flyers and graphics) as needed and receive approval from marketing prior to distributing 

o Manage and create OneCause fundraising webpages and Sign-Up Genius pages for events 

 · Event Management: 

o Assist with Polar Plunge and Plane Pull logistics, event prep, securing donations, participant recruitment, online registration and more 

o Assist in all other LETR fundraising events including assisting with online registrations for individuals and teams, communicating event information, and
having the ability to communicate with participants about payment 

o Responsible for the management and implementation of LETR Regional Lunch & Learn and/or Coffee & Connects to recruit new Agencies and cultivate
existing Agency relationships focusing on specific Regions where Regional Managers have an existing athlete populous 

o Responsible for Torch Run T-shirt orders and inventory for Torch Run events and DOC Staff Torch Run Shirt Day 

o Solicit donated auction items, prizes, food and beverage  

  · Relationship Management: 

o Manage event and agency thank you letters 

o Research businesses and law enforcement agencies for potential sponsorships and relationships 

o Create sponsor decks and activation reports 

o Manage current and recruit new law enforcement Agencies in Denver Metro and SE Regions alongside the Event Manager for LETR

Position Requirements:

· You believe in spreading joy and are dedicated to the mission of Special Olympics and have a thirst to be at the heart of social change 

· Bachelor’s degree required 

· Highly adept at planning, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and following through to achieve organization goals  

· Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient and flexible  

· Excellent in-person and telephone communication skills 

· Strong writing and editing skills  

· Have a drive for results and are a self-starter committed to the greater good

· Exceptional team player with a great work ethic

· Have excellent organzation, time management skills and attention to detail

· Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

· Working knowledge of Raisers Edge and Adobe Spark (preferred, not required) 

· Support other departments contributing to team spirit and sharing of responsibilities 

· Sense of humor 

· Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed, travel independently throughout the state, and lift and carry 30 lbs., and the ability to operate a computer for
extended periods 

· All other duties as assigned 

Additional Requirements:

Applicants will undergo a background check after conditional employment offer. Applicants must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, (or willingness to obtain one within a month of employment) with a driving record that allows employees to be covered by agency auto insurance and drive agency vehicles (must be at least 21 years old) with at least 2 years of driving experience. Applicants must also have access to a personal vehicle to travel throughout the state. Mileage
reimbursement is provided.
