Adult Day Director

The Adult Day Director is responsible for planning, organizing
and supervising all resident activities, creating an engaging and interactive
environment for our participants. This position will also oversee an active
volunteer program, manage and lead the Adult Day Program and serve as a
facility liaison to promote community interaction. This position may support
other functions within the facility and complete other duties as needed in
accordance with regulations as directed by the Director of Operations.
  

 Essential Functions: 

· Plan, schedule and coordinate leisure activity
programs to meet the variety of interest and the physical, cognitive, and
psycho-social needs of all participants
 

· Develop activity programs to allow all participants to
participate within their capabilities
 

· Inform the participants and staff and administration
of the current schedule of planned activities; develop facility calendars,
flyers, posters or newsletters as directed
 

· Directs the Adult Day Program including
assessments, admission paperwork, care plans, tours of the facility, collecting
payment, and marketing of the program; may administer medication to day program
participants as needed
 

· Complete an evaluation of each participant regarding
past and present leisure interests, abilities, limitations and needs; this
shall serve as a basis from which the activity program shall be developed
 

· Maintain timely progress notes specific to the
resident’s activity participation; retain records in organized manner
 

· Act to promote teamwork in providing the best possible
participant care and services
 

· Maintain professional working relationships with all
personnel, participants and families
 

· Operate participant activities within the budget
allocated by the Director of Operations
 

· Must obtain the QMAP qualification (Qualified
Medication Administration Provider) and successfully complete and pass the QMAP
course with 60 days of obtaining the role of Activities Director
 

· to pass
medications
 

· Establish an active volunteer program which includes
the recruiting, screening, orienting, training and supervising of volunteers
 

· Serve as a facility liaison to promote positive
community support and involvement in the facility
 

· May be involved in marketing efforts such as updating
website with photos of activities and publishing a newsletter
 

· Report any accident/incident or hazards, no matter how
insignificant
 

· Maintains activities equipment in proper working
condition to ensure the safety of our staff and participants
 

· Adhere to all participants rights, including, privacy,
confidentiality, and treating participants with dignity and respect
 

· Maintain confidentiality of all participant care
information
 

· Perform other duties as assigned 

  

Work Environment: 

· Sitting,
standing and walking throughout the day with intermittent driving
 

· Using
office equipment such as computer, mouse, keyboard, printer
 

· Indoor
office environment, temperature controlled; may perform duties outside in cold or hot temperatures
 

· Comfortable
using and climbing on step stools
 

· Activities
may require repetitive movements including climbing, crawling, crouching,
pulling, pushing
 

· May be subject to exposure to infectious waste,
diseases, conditions including HIV and Hepatitis B viruses.

of walkers, wheelchairs, powered scooters and van lifts a plus
 

· Safely load and unload participants from
buses, vans or other vehicles, minimizing falls risks or other injuries
 

· Bilingual

Education and Experience: 

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
Bachelors’ Degree in related field preferred
 

· 3-5 years’ progressive working experience
in a healthcare environment required
 

· Experience working with elderly activities and the special
needs of the elderly population preferred
 

· Adult day experience preferred 

· Certified activities professional preferred 

· Ability to read, write, speak and
understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in
writing at a professional level
 

· Ability to organize, supervise and direct others that
may or may not directly report to this position
 

· This position may transport participants in a company
vehicle, as such a valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR is required
 

· QMAP and First Aid certification required,
if not currently certified must have ability to become certified
 

  

Expected Hours of Work: 

This role is
considered full-time, exempt from overtime.
