About Save Our Youth Mentoring (SOY)

Save Our Youth Mentoring is a faith-based youth development organization connecting young people to hope through long-term mentoring relationships. We collaborate with individuals and groups in the community to increase awareness of kids’ resilience and support their success. Save Our Youth mentors bring experience, compassion, long-term commitment, and intentionality to provide kids with a caring advocate by their side.

Position Summary

The Development Coordinator contributes to securing funding to support the Save Our Youth mission by ensuring all “behind-the-scenes” aspects of the Save Our Youth Development Department run efficiently and effectively. This includes managing the donor database, ensuring effective donor communication, assisting Major Gift Officers and the CEO with administrative tasks, assisting with the grant-writing process, and assisting with development events as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Manages donor database and ensures good functionality.

· Prepare KPI reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for Development team, leadership team, and Board of Directors.

· Ensure excellent customer service to all donors through excellent donor stewardship.

· Assist in the grant-writing process by ensuring grants are submitted on time and all follow-up tasks are completed promptly and thoroughly.

· Provide general administrative support for the CEO & Major Gift Officers, including scheduling meetings, printing and mailing letters, preparing materials, and other projects as assigned.

· Provide administrative and on-site support for special events as needed.

· Assist donors and prospective donors with issues and general inquiries via phone and email.

· Contribute to a team environment by completing other duties as assigned.

· Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and handle many tasks in a fast-paced, complex environment, working both independently and as a team.

· Ability to interact cheerfully, creatively, and professionally with donors, team members, and other Save Our Youth contacts.

· 3+ years related experience. Advanced education/certifications may substitute.

· Ability to work collaboratively with staff in a positive and supportive environment.

Working Conditions

· Must have reliable transportation with proof of insurance and an acceptable driving record.

· Must be willing to work within a flexible schedule in order to attend evening and weekend events as needed.
