Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley is a nonprofit victim service organization that has served the St. Vrain
Valley for over 46 years. Providing support and resources in response to the growing need for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, we offer a short-term emergency shelter residential facility, individual, group, legal, and housing advocacy, and community education. Services are directed to individuals and their family who have experienced intimate partnership violence and abuse, abuse in later life, dating violence, or human trafficking.
CURRENTLY SEEKING: OUTREACH PROGRAMS & SERVICES MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual who is a leader in the field of domestic violence as well as skilled practitioner in comprehensive non-residential adult victim
services (intimate partner violence, dating violence, elder abuse, human trafficking), children’s services, legal advocacy, housing navigation, and case management.
The Outreach Programs & Services Manager is responsible for the oversight of the direct services program in our public office, provision of direct client services to program participants, supervision of staff and interns, trainings, outreach into the community, and performance of agency-wide management responsibilities. This position requires complete commitment to and understanding of Safe Shelter’s mission and operating philosophy. This position is accountable to and under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management
– Maintain overall responsibility for program budget, staffing, and development.
– Monitor, expand, and evaluate ongoing services to program participants.
– In conjunction with the Executive Director, research and develop best practice appropriate services for this non-residential program.
– Design and coordinate domestic violence trainings for Staff and Volunteers. In collaboration with
Shelter Residential Program/Facility Director, coordinate trainings for Staff professional development (i.e., data recordkeeping, CPR certifications, LGBTQ+ population and DV, etc.)
– Develop, implement, and monitor responsive services and quality standards into all programs.
– Supervise/evaluate/develop Outreach Programs/Services Staff to ensure an effective advocacy team and provision of quality services.
– Expand/supervise/evaluate an Outreach Programs/Services intern team to ensure an effective advocacy team and provision of quality services. intain overall responsibility for program budget, staffing, and development.
– Expand/supervise/evaluate an Outreach Programs/Services volunteer team to ensure an effective courtroom and phone bank volunteer advocacy program.
– Coordinate/collaborate with the Shelter Residential Program/Facility Director to ensure smooth continuum of services from Shelter to non-residential program for participants and efficient, effective use of staff time and resources.
– Collaborate with the management team to ensure documented programmatic use of current and future funding (grants, foundations, etc.).
– Assume organization-wide responsibilities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Program Oversight
– Provide counseling, support, advocacy, and referrals to participants who have experienced trauma and abuse.
– Act as case consultant to Staff, including assisting advocates in assessing and evaluating participant safety and needs, as well as assisting advocates in developing a plan of action with their clients.
– Oversee systematic data collection/record keeping, ensuring accurate program statistics and outcome measurements.
– Facilitate group counseling sessions as needed.
Community Outreach
– Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with community agency partners, including but not limited to law enforcement, district attorney offices, municipal and country human services.
– Serve on appropriate community committees in keeping with Safe Shelter’s mission and strategic plan.
– In collaboration with Management Team, assist with coordinating and staffing public speaking engagements and event tabling in the community.
– Network and consult with community agencies on a collaborative basis to expand and improve the range of services available to our clients.
Other Duties
– Uphold agency policies regarding client confidentiality, documentation, and data collection.
– Attend and participate at all Management Team and Staff meetings pertinent to duties assigned to the position.
– Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in program management/leadership with proven personnel management skills.
– Knowledge and understanding of the physical, psychological, and sociological issues involved in family violence.
– Strong crisis intervention and case management skills. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and client-centered approaches.
– Experience in crisis intervention, one-to-one and group counseling facilitation.
– Ability to regularly use discretion and independent judgment.
– General knowledge of community resources.
– Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office software.
– Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
– Must be available for occasional evening and/or weekend work.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be a skilled Licensed Master Social Worker (LCMSW) or a
skilled Master Social Worker with a minimum of three years’ experience in delivery and supervision in advocacy services.
