CURRENTLY SEEKING: GRANTS & IMPACT MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley is seeking a dynamic Grants and Impact Manager who will be responsible for the organization grants management program from inquiry and submission through compliance and impact reporting. The Grants and Impact Manager will grow the organization’s grant and foundation funding portfolio to build new and sustain current revenue streams. Safe Shelter has existing
grant partnerships with State, County and City Governments as well as through Foundations and corporate grants, with grant funding providing more than half of the annual budget.
This position requires complete commitment to and understanding of Safe Shelter’s mission and operating philosophy. The Grants and Impact Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with the management team. We encourage individuals with lived experience to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Grant Management:
- Research and write grant proposals for, but not limited to, state, county, municipal, foundation, and corporate funding sources.
- Manage and coordinate grant writing process, ensuring timely submission of proposals and follow-up documentation for awards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify new or emerging funding opportunities and develop compelling grant narratives.
- Develops and maintains systems for maintaining files, correspondences, and grant support documents including resumes, biographies, IRS forms, and staff/board diversity lists.
- Maintain a working knowledge of local, state, and national trends, demographics, and issues related to fundraising and domestic violence.
- Support ongoing understanding of grant requirements at an administrative and programmatic level, to ensure grant guidelines are well understood across the organization.
- In partnership with Executive Director, coordinate site visits and presentations to current and potential funders.
- Supports the development of streamlined processes and procedures for program staff to navigate complex grant requirements and deliverables by working closely with programs, Personnel, Budget/Finance, and Strategic Initiatives teams to: a. Ensure financial transparency and accountability by preparing grant applications, developing grant budgets, monitoring spenddown, adhering to purchase requirements and make recommended personnel adjustments, as needed.
2. Impact Data Management:
- Management of the organization’s data collection initiatives and systems, grants management, and compliance obligations.
- Partner with Business Manager to produce all funding reports according to prescribed guidelines and deadlines.
- Ensure post-award grant compliance by monitoring grant contracts, agreements, and evaluation planning.
- Create reports for the Board of Directors, committees, and Staff.
- Work closely with program and services Staff to identify outcomes, stories, and other important program information.
- Work collaboratively with other development staff to meet the goals of the annual fundraising plan.
3. Other Duties:
- Uphold agency policies regarding client confidentiality, documentation, and data collection.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with grant and foundation contacts, as well as appropriate community entities.
- Attend and participate at all Management Team and Staff meetings pertinent to duties assigned to the position.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft word and excel.
- Excellent communication skills, with highly proficient interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
- Proven competencies in Project Management Skills
- Adept at proficiently managing multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to learn and hold subject matter expertise on Safe Shelter reporting systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Some college or higher education vocational studies in related field.
- Two years of experience in grant writing, management, and research.
- Evidence of success in obtaining and managing grant/foundation awards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
POSITION STATUS
Salaried, Exempt, Full Time (4-day/32-hour work week), Occasional evenings and weekends required. 90-Day Onboarding Review. Located in Longmont, Colorado, the Grants & Impact Manager’s position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
