Bilingual Child and Youth Services Program Assistant
The Rose Andom Center is Colorado’s first Family Justice Center, serving survivors of domestic violence in the Denver Metro area. The Child & Youth Program Assistant will help plan the Pathways events & support with the conduction of Camp Hope America-Colorado program, along with other Child & Youth events and programming. Camp Hope & Pathways is an evidence-based program for youth who have been impacted by violence. This involves monthly group mentoring events and a week-long sleep away camp over the summer. Day to day activities will involve planning monthly events, planning and supporting camp (seasonal), and providing mentorship to youth participants. In addition, this role will be key in offering support at camp by helping to run camp programming and offering behavioral and emotional support for campers and support for counselors.
Status: Part Time (Non-Exempt)
Hours: 20 hours a week. Must be available Mon – Friday, between 9-5pm with some evening and weekend hours. (Must have full availability for the week of Camp Hope, August 4th – 8th, 2025 and August 3rd for a full-day training at Camp Shady Brook).

About the Program: Camp HOPE America is the first evidence-based camping and mentoring program in the United States to focus on children and teens exposed to domestic violence. The mission of Camp HOPE is to give youth a brighter future by creating pathways to hope and healing. Pathways is the year-round component of the Camp HOPE America program. Its main goal is to mitigate the impact of trauma on children with high Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) through positive social interactions within a hope-centered community.
Job Description: The Bilingual Child & Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) will work closely with the Child and Youth Program Manager in the development of Pathways activities and Camp Hope, and in the further development of the Rose Andom Center’s child and youth programming. The CYP Assistant will also connect with participants (ages 7-16) as a mentor and cheerleader. The CYP Assistant should plan and facilitate some monthly event programming. This role involves additional leadership responsibility as the CYP Assistant will also help with camp planning, collecting and organizing necessary paperwork for camp, offer support and guidance to counselors during the week of camp, and communicate any challenges or concerns to the Child & Youth Program Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- Live in the Denver Metro area year-round
- Bilingual- Spanish
- Some availability for monthly Thursday evening and Saturday availability for Pathways events
- Must have full availability to attend Camp Hope America-Colorado August 4th-8th, and some availability Mon-Friday 9-5pm
- Experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence and demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and their impact on children in the home
- Basic knowledge of Denver area resources
- Knowledge of the Family Justice Center model
o 20 hours a week with full 24/7 availability for the week of camp
o Able to participate in a training on intimate partner violence and trauma informed camping and mentoring training (~20 hours total)
- Able to support with presenting a training on trauma informed camping and mentoring skills for volunteer counselors prior to camp.
- Passion for working with youth impacted by trauma
- Passion for event planning

Advocacy & Mentorship:
- Form trusting relationships and rapport with participants and their caregivers
- Provide consistent, impactful, and trauma-informed mentorship to participating youth
- Update participant birthdays in Camp Hope Calendar & mail BDAY cards
- Send monthly newsletters to Pathways families w/upcoming Pathways events and other relevant events for families at RAC or in the community (Eng & Span)
- High Adventure program development & Mentorship
- Create & share feedback surveys for parents feedback 1-2x a year
- Create & share feedback surveys for participants feedback 1-2x a year
- Support CYPM with intakes with new participants
- Support with initial outreach to families
Camp Hope Planning (April – August)
- Support with the Camp Info Night for all Pathways families to share info about camp, docs required for camp, apts required for camp (April).
- Assist with Camp Hope surveys and sending it to Camp Hope America team
- Assist CYP Manager in camp staff and Hope Coach training by leading portions of the training and creating some training content, based on expertise, interest, etc.
- Organize Camp Hope games, activities, crafts, etc.
- Assist CYP Manager in screening and interviewing Camp Hope Counselors
- Run inventory of Camp Hope gear
- Order gear needed for activities & camp supplies.
- Update and make Camp Badges
- Support CYP Manager with ‘Meet and Greets’ for camp participants
Assistance in Programming:
- Organize, plan, and implement monthly Pathways and other program events
- Manage Participant & Parent Contact Info
- Manage and organize monthly Pathways event details & event coordination
- Plan out Pathways events per season or semester, roughly 3 months in advance
- Create & share event flyers with families (Eng & Span)
- Plan High Adventure-specific events
- Send email & text reminders to families for upcoming events, share flyers in-person and via email (Eng & Span)
- Send Calendar invites to Hope Coaches for upcoming Pathways events, FU with Hope Coaches 1-2 weeks before event to get an updated attendance number
- Manage Hope Coach group email to update/remove contacts as needed
- Assist CYP Manager in designing HA program based on the participants’ feedback and interests
- Work closely and cooperatively in a team setting with Rose Andom Center staff, interns, and volunteers
- Complete all other duties as assigned
