Pedaling Minds is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Olympian Mike Friedman with a mission to help every person ride a bicycle with control and confidence. Established in 2017, we have impacted over 2,400 individuals, promoting biking as a tool for personal empowerment, family bonding, and lifelong wellness. Our work is centered on overcoming the common challenges that prevent people from learning to ride or building confidence in their cycling skills.
As we enter a phase of exciting growth, Pedaling Minds is looking to expand both our programmatic reach and our internal capacity. We aim to establish permanent and satellite locations, build a digital platform for lessons, and develop a network of coaches and trainers. We are seeking a motivated, solutions-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Event &Partnership Coordinator, with a strong focus on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across our programming.
This is a dynamic, multifaceted role where the successful candidate will combine event coordination, partnership development, and DEI support. You will play an integral role in organizing programs, creating strategic partnerships, ensuring the accessibility and inclusivity of our initiatives, and helping us grow our impact across communities.
You will work closely with the Executive Team, the Director of Programming, the Development Department, and the Partnership & DEI Liaison. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape how Pedaling Minds scales and how we engage with diverse populations to ensure our mission is realized in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

Partnership & DEI Development
● Cultivate community partnerships: Develop relationships with schools, local government agencies, nonprofits, and other community organizations to expand Pedaling Minds’ reach and impact.
● Promote DEI principles: Work closely with the Partnership & DEI Liaison to ensure DEI strategies are embedded in our operations and programs, with an emphasis on reaching underserved communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+ groups, immigrants, and low-income families.
● Organize DEI training: Assist in developing and delivering DEI training for staff and instructors, focusing on culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approaches.
● Facilitate small group discussions: Support group sessions and events that foster inclusivity and community engagement.
● Outreach and inclusion: Assist in outreach to underrepresented groups, ensuring Pedaling Minds’ programs are accessible and beneficial to a diverse range of participants.
General Administrative Support
● Assist with program data management: Track and manage program descriptions, registrations, and communications.
● Monitor event inquiries: Respond to email inquiries related to events, scholarships, refunds, and other administrative matters.
● Event planning experience: Proven ability to coordinate events, from logistics to execution.
● Knowledge of Spanish: Proven ability to speak and write in Spanish.
● Passion for DEI: A passion for advancing diversity and inclusion is essential.
● Community-building skills: Strong experience in building partnerships and working with diverse communities.
● Excellent communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in crafting messages for internal teams, partners, and community members.
● Tech-savvy: Proficiency with digital tools such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.), Google Meet, Zoom, and other common nonprofit software platforms.
● Autonomous and collaborative: Able to work independently while being an active team player, taking initiative, and supporting colleagues across departments.
● Growth mindset: Adaptable, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
● Familiarity with working with children, particularly those aged 6-10, or in community-based educational settings.
● Enjoyment of cycling and an understanding of the unique challenges people face when learning to ride.
● The role is flexible, but regular communication and occasional meetings during the workweek (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM) are expected.
● While this role is remote, preference will be given to candidates based in the Colorado Front Range region.
● Occasional in-person meetings with the executive team will be required (primarily around the Boulder/Denver area).
