Prevention Specialist

Position SummaryPart-time hourly, 20-30 hours per week, 10-month position, opportunity to renew annually  

Underthe direction of the Director of Community Education, this position supports the organization’s mission by building relationships with youth and school
representatives. The Prevention Specialist is responsible for planning and facilitating in-school youth prevention program efforts, supporting the organization’s prevention education efforts, and performing general office duties and other responsibilities as needed with a schedule following the school year calendar.

Additional Qualifications: 

The Prevention Specialist position requires a high level of professionalism, strong multi-tasking skills, strong classroom management and facilitation skills, ability to connect with and engage youth of all ages, and flexibility. Bilingual English/ Spanish language speaking and multicultural preferred. Experience working with youth and diverse populations in an educational setting with a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices strongly preferred.  


The Prevention Specialist will occasionally be required to perform position duties outside of normal working hours. Travel to meetings or trainings throughout the county, state, and out of the state may be required. It is important that the candidate can conduct themselves in the most courteous and professional manner.
