Program Coordinator

ABOUT MIRROR IMAGE ARTS

Mirror Image Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit youth advocacy organization founded in 2008. We utilize Restorative Theatre to disrupt the pipeline to prison. Our work is the collective liberation for all. We work for and with young people (ages 5-21) across Metro Denver. We center our work with youth, many of whom are dealing with the effects of complex trauma, in underserved and under-resourced areas. While our primary pursuit is supporting and empowering young people, we recognize we must also support the environments in which they spend much of their time. Therefore, we work in deep partnerships inside education and the youth legal system to ensure all youth experience positiveyouth development, restorative justice, and trauma-informed care .

Our priorities can be seen through our programs and practices:

1. We employ Trusted Adults who are specifically trained to use Restorative Theatre, trauma informed care/healing-centered engagement, and culturally responsive teaching practices to help young people find their value and potential through Social-Emotional Learning (SEL).

2. We have 3 distinct programs – It Starts With Us (Prevention), Your Voice (Intervention) Brighter Future (Reintegration). Specifics about our programs can be found here.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a part-time Program Coordinator (up to 15 hours a week). This position will report to a Your Voice Program Manager. A person who works at MIA needs to wholeheartedly believe every young person is an asset to our community, deserves a clean slate and that their choices do not define who they are. Responsibilities will include serving as a Restorative Theatre facilitator and performer for programs in education and youth legal system, devising new theatrical works, program development and coordination, partnership building and collaboration, supporting evaluation efforts, and fundraising.
