Metro Caring is hiring a new Grants Coordinator position
that will be an integral part of our Development and Communications team and the
work to meet the organization’s fundraising goals.
We are looking for
someone who has some demonstrated grant experience and success and who is looking
to take their skills and career to the next level on a driven and supportive
team focused on fueling Metro Caring’s urgent work addressing food insecurity and
its root causes in our community.
A strong written and verbal
communicator who is a justice-focused and organized problem solver, our new
Grants Coordinator will work directly with Metro Caring’s Grants Team and
Program Managers to successfully manage a portfolio of at least 30 funding
opportunities each year. If you have a passion and drive for this work,

POSITION TITLE: Metro Caring Grants Coordinator
REPORTING TO: Metro Caring Grants and Foundation Relations Manager (GFRM)
LOCATION: The Metro Caring office is located at 1100
E 18th Ave, Denver, CO 80218. Onboarding and training will take place at the
office.

STARTING DATE: We are flexible on the start date as we are
committed to finding the right addition to our team..
COMPENSATION:$26.92, non-exempt full-time
position 

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
 

We know that many in our community have experienced
barriers to employment opportunities. As a reflection of that reality, we will
consider experiences, skills, and abilities built through volunteer
experiences. If your experience was built via volunteer opportunities, we will
prioritize candidates who can demonstrate long-term volunteer roles or take on
structured volunteer leadership roles.
 

· 1-3 years of grants research, writing
and application preparation, analysis, reporting, compliance, and accurate
processing of grants program requirements
 

· 1-3 years of development experience
at a non-profit
 

· Understanding of the charitable food
system, food insecurity, and its impact, and the movement for food sovereignty
 

· Baseline understanding of the
systemic racial and social inequities that Metro Caring programs seek to solve
for
 

· Strong written and verbal
communication skills.
 

· Ability to leverage resources and
knowledge to creatively problem-solve
 

· Proficient in technology
platforms; Microsoft Office Suite and donor CRM programs required – Salesforce preferred;
program management platforms such as Asana and the design platform Canva
strongly preferred.
 

· Demonstrated ability to secure
funding for direct services as well as policy and advocacy work.
 

· Experience applying racial
justice and equity-driven fundraising practices.
 

· Able to
convey complex issues and solutions to diverse audiences both internally and
externally.
 

The Metro Caring Grants Coordinator’s duties include: 

Portfolio
Management  

· Produce and submit well-written
grants and reports within required timeframes
 

· Manage a growing portfolio of at least 30 general
operating funders per year.  

· Lead program staff to successfully manage program-specific
funder portfolios and restricted funding opportunities under $50,000.  

· Maintain our grants calendar to
ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports to
existing and prospective institutional funders;
