Mental Health Colorado (MHC), Colorado’s leading advocate for Healthier Minds Across the Lifespan, seeks a skilled and experienced Development Manager to implement our fundraising strategies in support of our Safer Housing initiative in Arapahoe County. Safer Housing provides housing and care management support for adult individuals with health needs who are, or are at risk of, justice-involvement. This role will encompass building and managing a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation donors to support the Safer Housing initiative and the broader mission of Mental Health Colorado. In addition, the Manager will help secure sponsorships for events, including MHC’s annual Tribute Gala.
The Development Manager will have primary responsibility for diversifying and growing Safer’s fundraising base; maintaining and strengthening current relationships with existing donors; identifying new prospects, developing new relationships with prospects and supporters.
The Development Manager will:
• Help execute the organization’s vision for growing sustainable support across revenue sources by implementing annual and multi-year fundraising plans based on relationship building activities
• Manage prospect and donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including small events, personalized stewardship plans and philanthropic impact reporting to inspire support for the Safer Housing initiative.
• In collaboration with program staff, leadership and development staff, develop mission-driven content for fundraising efforts, and contribute to the organization’s comprehensive communications and marketing efforts.
• Support identification and collection of stories and testimonials to illustrate the impact of philanthropy for Safer Housing.
• Monitor and enhance donor retention by implementing team-developed stewardship strategies
• Identify meaningful engagement opportunities aligned with our mission, fundraising goals, and advocacy priorities.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Provide strategic support for leadership’s portfolio activity.
• Establish and execute annual, major gifts and planned giving program strategies.
• Participate in the Safer Housing budget process to establish attainable and aspiring revenue goals.
• In alignment with MHC leadership, establish revenue goals and activity metrics; track revenue and fundraising metrics against goals and budget to drive data-informed fundraising decisions.
• Participate in subsequent years’ strategic planning for all major fundraising initiatives.
• Work closely with contracted grant writer to ensure an organized and effective prospecting, application, and reporting process; oversee the execution of all Safer funding proposals.
• Ensure our CRM (Salesforce) is consistently leveraged as the tracking, communications, and engagement tool for donors and stakeholders and is reliably viewed as our single source of truth internally.

• 2+ years of experience in a nonprofit organization, development, sales or similar field
