Contract-to-Hire Peer Support Advocate – Overnight

 The Peer Support Advocate – Overnight position provides a supportive, restful, and secure environment for SAFER participants during the overnight hours. This position will assist participants with nightly activities, respond to participant needs, and ensure the hotel is a comfortable home for participants during the night. We are seeking an applicant who can provide holistic care, will support participants’ wellbeing and safety, and whose genuine compassion guides their work.   


QMAP/Med Administration or willing to be trained; first Aid/CPR Training or willing to be trained; experience in a human services organization including client care; desire to support people who come from diverse backgrounds and who have faced trauma and significant barriers; compassion, sound judgement, self-awareness, thoughtfulness are essential; lived experience and experience in behavioral health a plus – this role is open to mental/behavioral health peers and recovery peers especially  


· Assist in nightly activities and provide direct care, while promoting a restful environment and practices for participants  

· Facilitate a supportive culture and atmosphere for participants through warm, personable, trauma-informed service provision  

· Provide individual advocacy and trauma informed support for participants on an as needed basis. Actively participate in crisis
management, including de-escalation when a person is in crisis or at risk of escalating  

· Ensure hotel is comfortable for participants by responding to maintenance needs should they arise; report any maintenance
issues to appropriate staff  

· Develop familiarity with local social services and emergency response; be familiar with and be prepared to execute SAFER’s
safety plans should the need arise  

· Ensure timely documentation of interventions, care logs, and billing paperwork  

· Communicate with and update daytime staff on participants’ wellbeing overnight to ensure coordinated transition and
consistency for participants across all shifts  

· Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all participants in the program
