Wish Coordinator

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Beginning with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we have evolved to

be one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of

generous donors and over 200 volunteers, Make-A-Wish Colorado grants over 300 wishes a year.

Areas of Responsibility

– Prepare and conduct wish family discovery visits, monthly

– Cultivate Wish Volunteer relationships

– Develop and maintain partnerships within the community to support wishes.

– Prepare wish-related information for volunteers, wish families, health care professionals, and community partners.

– Monitor progress of each wish and ensure timely execution.

– Adhere to all national and local performance standards and guidelines.

– Maintain accurate wish database records and electronic files.

– Supervise and support volunteers involved in the wish.

– Communicate with health care professionals, volunteers and family members to ensure each wish proceeds in the best interest of the child.

– Coordinate all specific aspects involved with the wish, including but not limited to transportation, accommodations, services, assisting chapters,

medical equipment, liability forms, and itineraries.

– Communicate and coordinate specific wish details successfully with other Make-A-Wish Chapters/Affiliates when necessary

– Establish and manage wish budgets in collaboration with program leadership.

– Ensure proper reconciliation of cash and in-kind donations related to each wish.

– Administer and follow all procedures required for completion of a wish.

– Stay up to date on National and Colorado policies, guidelines, and resources. Participate in staff meetings and contribute as a team member.

– Excellent communication and customer service skills.

– Flexible and adaptable to change. Passion for the mission of Make-A-Wish.

Working Conditions

Position is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

– Must have the ability and willingness to travel across Colorado and work some nights/weekends.

– Physical Requirements: This role may require lifting materials up to 25 pounds and extended periods of sitting or standing.
