Position Summary
The Executive Director of the Listen Foundation leads the organization by overseeing strategic planning, operations, and financial management to support its mission. The role involves directing all fundraising and service activities, acting as the foundation’s primary spokesperson, and fostering relationships with clients, partners, and the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to set and achieve organizational goals while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, they manage day-to-day office operations, contracts, and governance activities.
Key Responsibilities
● Leadership: Drive the organization’s vision, strategy, and culture, and ensure effective resource allocation to advance the mission
● Organizational Management & Operations: In collaboration with therapists, conduct continuity and advancement of programs, fundraising, financial management, human resources, measurement and evaluation, communications, and accountability for reaching goals. Oversight of Administrative Assistant and CI Family Camp Director.
● Financial Oversight: Conduct new and comprehensive fundraising efforts, including managing grants, donor relations, and partnerships to build fundraising sophistication. Expand organization revenue streams. Manage all financial aspects, including budgeting, billing, and financial reporting
● Communications: Lead community outreach, marketing, and stakeholder communication, both internal and external, and serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson. Coordinate updates of website and social media pages.
● Relationships & Partnerships: Build and sustain partnerships with a range of stakeholders, including community members, volunteers, donors, board members, and program partners to foster mutual benefit and alignment
● Board Relations: Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to organize strategic plan, supporting governance practices and aligning board actions with the organization’s mission and goals. Help recruit new board members. Conduct annual BOD retreat.
Desired Skills and Experience
● Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within a nonprofit setting, with a strong track record of managing and developing people and fostering a collaborative team environment
● Strong interpersonal skills and active listening ability, with a talent for fostering trust across diverse groups
● Proven experience in nonprofit financial management and all aspects of fundraising, from strategy to execution
● Proven ability to negotiate and manage professional services and operational contracts on behalf of a non-profit organization using a professional and respectful approach
● Skilled communicator with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, emphasizing transparency and compassion
● Demonstrated ability to increase organizational awareness and serve as an effective spokesperson and advocate
● Effective at engaging a nonprofit Board of Directors in a productive partnership
● Embraces partnerships and collaboration with a management style rooted in respect, teamwork, and courage in conflict resolution
● Comfortable with common technology and able to quickly adapt to new tools
● Preference for candidates with nonprofit experience and connections in the state of Colorado

Salary Range and Benefits
● Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000
● Benefits: 80 hours PTO, $300/mo healthcare stipend
Schedule
● Full time. Hybrid, with at least 3 days in office per week
