POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
La Plaza, a small non-profit organization that serves migrant & seasonal farm workers and their families in Mesa County, is currently seeking a new full-time Executive Director.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation of La Plaza. The director ensures that the programs and services necessary to support migrant farmworkers and their families are developed, implemented, monitored and modified as needed. The Executive Director’s responsibilities include resource development, financial management, personnel/volunteer management, oversight of programs, public relations and effective appropriate delegation of duties to the staff. The Executive Director communicates the needs of La Plaza effectively to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director exercises significant discretion in the performance of his/her duties and must have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Minimum Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human services, non-profit management or a related field.
At least 3 years of progressively responsible management experience, including personnel management.
Experience in volunteer recruitment and management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Must speak/understand conversational Spanish to communicate effectively with La Plaza clients. Assessment of language skills may be done.
Sound decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Colorado Driver’s License and an insured personal vehicle suitable for work-related travel
Salary range $65,000-$75,000/year
