Donor Engagement & Events Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Donor Engagement & Events Coordinator is a 20-25 hour a week part-time position that plays a critical role in the strategy,
planning and execution of fundraising events, marketing outreach and donor
stewardship and engagement. The Coordinator will work with the Stewardship & Donor Engagement Specialist to
lead on event strategy and execution, communicating and elevating partner and
sponsor benefits, and providing thoughtful stewardship for donors and JA’s
corporate and community partners. Current events include golf tournaments, the annual
Day of Giving, bowl-a-thon, auctions, and an annual gala.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Leads the planning and execution for annual special events, mission-based events
and fundraising opportunities including the JA Golf Classic (August), the
Day of Giving & Golfing (October), Rock N Bowl (March), and the annual
JA Gala and auction event (May)
- Coordinates JA’s relationship with the online fundraising platform, QGiv. Attends
relevant training and webinar opportunities to continuously improve JA’s
knowledge of the online tool and build capacity with an understanding of
updated platform features.
- Proactively works to connect and engage sponsors and partners to fundraising events
and other engagement opportunities
- Continually innovates ideas for potential high revenue generation through new mission
based events and other unique partner opportunities; stays connected to
the JA USA network to continually develop innovative ideas
- Develops and promotes mutually-beneficial corporate sponsorship packages to
purposefully connect partners to JA’s philanthropic mission
- Recruits volunteers and leads outreach, engagement and event day coordination of
staff and volunteer teams
- Works in partnership with Stewardship & Donor Engagement Specialist as well
as the Brand & Communications Coordinator to establish themes,
logistics, timelines and tasks as necessary for event production, as well
as relevant online and print materials for events
- Communicates with event attendees, corporate donors, partners and vendors with a high
quality, responsive customer service mindset
- Serves as key liaison between staff and event committees; leads committee
recruitment and outreach for each event
- Tracks and records communications and donor engagement through JA’s
database(BCRM)
- Assists in set up and breakdown for all Special Events
Qualifications, Preferred Skills & Requirements:
- Excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), problem solving,
listening, and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading nonprofit fundraising teams and committees for revenue generation
of $100K +
- Eye for detail and consistent follow-through
- Creativity and innovation
- Demonstrates initiative and works with limited supervision
- Able to multitask and work well with multiple priorities, some flexibility with
work hours during evening events
- Displays a positive attitude, works well on a team as a leader and as a team member
accepting direction
- Valid driver’s license and car insurance with reliable transportation
- Must be willing to complete and able to pass background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
