Colorado Nonprofit Association
Clinical Internship
Description
Judi’s House is a comprehensive grief center serving children ages 3-18, young adults 18-25, and their parents or caregivers. We serve individuals who are grieving a death loss of any kind, including illness, suicide, homicide, and accidental death. The families that we serve are grieving the death of a “special person” who could be a parent, sibling, grandparent or other family member, friend, etc.
We primarily offer group counseling facilitated by highly skilled licensed mental health professionals and graduate-level interns with trained community members serving as group volunteers. Our trauma-informed, strength-based model recognizes that grief is a natural, healthy reaction to loss. With the right people available and in the right environment, children and families can begin to heal. At Judi’s House we do not pathologize grief. We respect each person’s unique way of coping. We meet clients where they are and believe there are many ways to grieve.
Some clients and families experience complex or traumatic grief reactions. When clinically indicated, we offer individual and family therapy to meet these more intense needs. All services are free of charge.
