Job Title: Business Development Consultant (Workforce Development)

Compensation: $28-$50 per week (depending on experience in creating talent pipelines for workforce development organizations

TechNation Careers is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting refugees and immigrants in finding meaningful careers within the technology industry. We are committed to bridging the gap between talented individuals and employers seeking diverse tech talent. TechNation works with Afghan, Ukrainian, and African immigrants who have proper work authorization to provide career mentorship, technology training, and job placement services to a group of 70 New Americans (during grant period).

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Consultant to join our team. This is a grant-funded, contract role with goal-driven metrics defined by our funding partner. Pay for this position is hourly based on activities that the individual completes. In this role, you will be pivotal in expanding our network, generating leads, and facilitating connections between TechNation and employers in the tech industry. The overall goal of this position is to generate talent pipelines to place 24 entry to mid-level candidates in relevant fields successfully. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of our mission by enhancing employment opportunities for our candidates. This is a contract position with flexible hours, but we do expect the candidate to be on the job site 1 day per week (future work location will be in Denver metro area).

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Lead Generation and Outreach:

 – Create talent pipelines with 20 different employers to successfully place 24 candidates with the grant period.

 – Follow up with employer leads weekly to cultivate relationships and identify potential partnerships.

 – Schedule meetings and coordinate with the Executive Director and Employment Specialist to discuss potential opportunities and strategies.

– Success metrics will be based on number of meetings scheduled, employer talent pipelines created, and individuals place in positions.

2. Employer Relationship Management:

 – Develop and maintain relationships with tech industry employers to understand their hiring needs and preferences.

 – Promote TechNation Careers’ mission and services to potential employer partners.

 – Work with employers to identify job openings and discuss opportunities for collaboration.

5. Data Management and Reporting:

 – Track lead generation activities and maintain accurate records in the CRM system.

 – Provide regular reports on lead generation, employer engagement, and placement metrics.

 – Analyze data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and suggest improvements.

6. Strategic Planning and Execution:

 – Contribute to the development and implementation of business development strategies and plans.

 – Collaborate with the Executive Director and Employment Specialist to align efforts and achieve organizational goals.

7. Collaboration and Teamwork:

 – Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts.

 – Participate in team meetings, provide insights, and contribute to the development of new initiatives and programs.

Qualifications:

– Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or recruitment, preferably within the technology sector or related industries.

 – Experience working on a workforce development grant project is highly preferred.

– Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Proficiency in lead generation techniques and tools.

– Knowledge: Understanding of the tech industry and job market trends. Familiarity with the challenges faced by refugees and immigrants is a plus.

– Abilities: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
