Business Development Manager – Program Sales (REMOTE)

ICAST (International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology) is a 501c3 nonprofit that delivers green upgrades to multifamily affordable housing (MFAH) properties to fight the affordable housing, climate change, and social equity crises. We motivate people to act, leading to results that foster local economic development, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. By 2025, we aim to serve 100,000 LMI households annually, reduce their utility costs by $270 Million and Carbon emission by 1.5 million tons, create 2,000 sustainable jobs, and invest over $100 Million in local communities.

Position Overview:

The Primary role of the Business Development Manager for Program Sales is to develop and execute on strategies to sell ICAST services to a variety of customers including but not limited to Utilities, State Energy Office (SEO), and Federal Government agencies, mainly US DOE, HUD and EPA.  

  

Must Have Qualifications:

· Possess an existing network of Utility DSM or SEO’s you have worked with. 

· Prior experience successfully selling solar or energy efficiency programs to Utilities, State & Federal Government customers. 

  

Desired Qualifications:

· Ability to evaluate and convey complex information to others in an effective manner through persuasive communication and negotiation skills  

· Ability to exercise good judgment in establishing and maintaining working relationships, solve problems, and be able to deliver with limited supervision 

· Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, contracts, and program related documents as needed 

· Strong attention to detail and follow-up  

  

Location: Remote in the U.S.A. 

Travel: Some travel may be required based on the needs of the job. 

Reports to: Vice President of Business Development 

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced  

Areas of Expertise: B2B Sales  

Compensation: $100k + Achievement based bonus plan with no cap

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Prospect for new Program Sales opportunities    

· Coordinate diligence requests between prospective clients and the Business Development team  

· Build lasting relationships with and educate potential & realized customers  

· Maintain records of customer interactions in Salesforce CRM  

· Assist in the organization of marketing campaigns that will lead to Program Sales.   

Goals:  

· Understand the ICAST business model in less than 90 days

· Build a pipeline of Utility DSM potential clients in the first 6 months that are realistic to issue RFPs for multifamily DSM programs in the coming months

· Build a pipeline of SEOs interested in ICAST services in the first 6 months
