POSITION SUMMARY: 

The HMIS Specialist work to support the responsibilities of the HMIS Lead Agency for the Northern Colorado Continuum of Care. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the HMIS system, supporting end users, and contributing to the compliance and reporting efforts of the agency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. This position reports to the HMIS System Administrator.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

General Responsibilities: 

End User Support: Provide assistance to end users by troubleshooting issues, responding to help desk tickets, and running reports.

Training Development: Create and deliver training sessions for end users in accordance with the HUD HMIS Data Standards Manual. Ability to utilize e-learning course authoring tools and LMS software.  

Compliance Monitoring: Participate in agency compliance monitoring activities as needed. 

Meeting Participation: Engage in local, state, and national-level HMIS meetings and training sessions as necessary. 

Community Involvement: Represent the agency in various meetings, committees, community activities, and outreach events, including those of the NoCo CoC. 

Administrative Support: Offer administrative assistance to the HMIS team as required. 

Data Management Responsibilities: 

Data Quality Reporting: Generate and distribute monthly data quality and timeliness reports to agencies, ensuring follow-up actions are taken to correct identified issues. 

Program Monitoring Reports: Assist in the production of quarterly and annual reports to monitor programs and assess outcomes. 

Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks within the system, which may include entering and correcting data as necessary. 

Custom Report Creation: Develop custom reports using the Clarity System, Looker, and Tableau, tailored to specific needs. 

Report Preparation for Submissions: Aid in the preparation of reports for local, state, and national submissions, including LSA, SPM, HIC, and PIT. 

Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall goals of the HMIS team and the agency. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing 

Flexibility to manage an assortment of tasks and readiness for ever-changing priorities 

Self-motivated, able to prioritize, bring ideas to the table, and meet deadlines 

Ability to work both as a team player and independently with limited supervision 

Ability to collaborate with a diverse workforce 

Methodological expertise in data quality assurance and control; and ingenuity to reach outcomes using alternative paths when necessary 

A strong work ethic, integrity, and the highest ethical standards are expected 

Creative problem-solving skills and patience are required 

Clarity Software and knowledge of HMIS preferred
