Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

ABOUT US: Hilltop Community Resources is a non-profit organization that has been providing human services to the Grand Valley for over 70 years. Hilltop provides numerous different services throughout Mesa, Delta, Montrose, and Gunnison Counties.

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, guiding its financial strategy, planning, and maintaining its fiscal stability. They will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

The CFO position has a starting monthly salary of $14,041-$15,445. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on September 11, 2024.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Manage the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
  2. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization’s short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
  3. Develop and implement the financial strategy of the company. This includes but is not limited to long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies.
  4. Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
  5. Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives and opportunities.
  6. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
  7. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  8. Direct the Fiscal Services team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training.
  9. Participate in key decisions as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  10. Maintain outstanding relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required (MBA preferred). Extensive experience (10+ years) in financial management, preferable in a nonprofit setting. Experience in a senior financial leadership role (preferred). Successful experience with short and long term financial and business planning with proven ability to develop and execute strategies.
