Executive Director

SUMMARY:

The Executive Director of the Gazette Charities Foundation (GCF) is an employee of The Anschutz Foundation (TAF) with primary responsibility for the Gazette Charities Foundation in the Pikes Peak area. This position plans, organizes, and executes the Empty Stocking Fund (ESF), a comprehensive fundraising campaign to support 20 health and human service partner agencies. The position engages with the community and fosters meaningful relationships with donors, foundations, volunteers, and partner agencies. The position also provides grantmaking support for TAF for nonprofit agencies in the Pikes Peak area. The Executive Director has dual reporting to the Executive Director of TAF and the Chair of the Board of Gazette Charities. 

Key Responsibilities:

o Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to support 20 partner agencies.

o Supervise assigned Gazette marketing staff (including a graduate fellow from UCCS) to execute this plan.

o Organize and oversee fundraising events to engage community members and elevate awareness for the ESF campaign.

o Develop relationships with key stakeholders and bring on new partners.

o Set and achieve fundraising goals within specified timelines

· TAF Grantmaking Support

o Track and review
grant applications submitted for consideration from the Pikes Peak region; make site visits, as appropriate; prepare written summaries and analysis documents of grant applications to aid grantmaking committee in evaluating and making awards. Note: currently, most ESF partners are also TAF grantees.

o Communicate with grant applicants and grantees and serve as TAFs principal contact with Pikes Peak grantees.

o Respond to and manage new inquiries from nonprofit organizations regarding Foundation priorities and processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Physical Activity:

· Able to operate a motor vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license.

· May
be required to travel by automobile to grantee locations and meetings, and bi-weekly team meetings in Denver, Colorado.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Primarily an office environment, and occasionally in the external environment.

· Business needs may require travel.

· Occasional evening grantee and community event attendance.
