Government Inventory Lead

Overview: 

Join our team as a Government Inventory Lead and play a crucial role in supporting The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and Commodity
Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). You’ll manage and oversee inventory processes, data entry, and reporting using our CERES inventory management system. Your responsibilities will include inputting received products, entering product allocations, processing invoices, and generating monthly reports. You’ll also collaborate closely with partner agencies to schedule orders and address any issues. If you’re detail-oriented and passionate about making a difference, we want to hear from you!

· Schedules incoming loads of USDA foods to the Nome St Warehouse

· Schedules monthly partner agency pickups at the Nome St Warehouse

· Tracks and verifies BOLs from received USDA loads for accuracy

· Tracks and verifies TEFAP and CSFP agencies for accuracy

· Using Ceres, monitors TEFAP inventory available for order on Agency Express and adjusts agency size to ensure:

o Product is equitably distributed to the partner agency network

o Inventory turns are 90 days or less

o All product is distributed before expiration date

o Ensures observance of first-in, first-out (FIFO) management principles

· Using Microsoft Excel, creates monthly TEFAP Mobile Pantry Allocation spreadsheet to ensure:

o Product is equitably distributed to the partner agency network

o Inventory turns are 90 days or less

o All product is distributed before expiration date

o Ensures observance of first-in, first-out (FIFO) management principles.

· Creates CSFP orders in CERES database in coordination with the Volunteer Operations Team at the 45th St Warehouse

· Posts TEFAP and CSFP orders in CERES database when delivery/pickup has been completed

· Assists inventory team with month end inventory to include:

o Investigating and reporting inventory discrepancies to TEFAP Manager and CSFP Manager

o Completing positive and negative adjustments in CERES database after approval by TEFAP Manager and CSFP Manager

· Assists the TEFAP Manager and CSFP Manager in compiling and submitting inventory reports to the State of Colorado within assigned deadlines.

· Trained as backup receiver in CERES and WBSCM databases to assist the warehouse staff as needed.

o Ensures government product gets tagged for return to Nome

o Ensures accurate count of remaining government product following distributions

o Issues TEFAP and CSFP credit memos and reallocation of TEFAP product returned to Nome as needed

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Intermediate to Advanced Computer Proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· Problem-solver, takes initiative, self-motivated, well organized, accurate, detail-oriented

· Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and perform duties with minimal supervision

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Good communication skills. Strong presentation skills and must enjoy training to large and small groups

· Good people and mentoring skills.

· Reliable.

· Keep abreast of regulations updates and developments in TEFAP and CSFP programs.

· Ability to speak and write in English required

Required Qualifications:  

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred 

· Minimum of one year prior experience in an inventory role; prior warehouse experience strongly preferred 

· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel 

· Experience with Smartsheet is a plus 

· Government programs experience a plus 

· Must have a clean driving record with a Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to visit partner agencies as needed 

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level Experience using collaborative tools for file storage and sharing, meeting scheduling, and virtual collaboration 

Expected Hours of Work:  

This role is considered full-time working approximately 40 hours per week and is eligible for overtime. Requires working Saturdays as needed. Travel within the geographic region may be required and is primarily local during the business day.
