About Family Promise of Colorado Springs

The mission of Family Promise of Colorado Springs is to provide safe compassionate temporary shelter for children and their families who are situationally unhoused.

We work cooperatively within our network and the community to offer support and tools so that families can be housed together and move towards independence.

Family Promise’s primary goal is to empower families with children to permanently transition into independent affordable housing; secondary goals include meeting families’ housing needs in the most cost-effective manner possible and providing congregations with an opportunity to put their faith into action.

Case Management I Responsibilities & Duties

• Assess clients’ needs, situations, and support networks to determine their goals.

• Develop and implement care plans to improve clients’ housing and financial position during their 90-day term with FPCOS

• Develop and implement a case management plan to improve clients’ housing and financial position while receiving assistance from the Agency’s prevention program

• Provide counseling and emotional support to client families

• Advocate for clients to obtain resources and services that improve their immediate and intermediate housing position

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions in HMIS and any other relevant casework systems

• Collaborate with city, county, and state housing and DHS officials to coordinate care for client families.

• Assess and assist clients in crisis situations and provide any appropriate intervention services

• Monitor and document clients’ progress every week and adjust care plans as needed.

• Educate client families about available resources and services upon graduation

• Facilitate support groups and educational workshops

• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in social work practice

Operational Responsibilities I Management & Reporting

• Ensure that resident families maintain all residence responsibilities in the Day House and sheltering facilities

• Oversee and manage any case management interns including assigning and checking workload, schedules, and reporting

• Ensure Day House donations have been distributed as appropriate, and stored in an effective manner if any inventory remains

• This position reports to the Director of Family Services

Case Management I Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field. Master’s Degree preferred

• Previous experience in social work or human services. Work specifically within family services and housing preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Familiarity with community resources and services, particularly relating to housing and family services

• Ability to handle high-stress situations effectively

• Proficiency in using social work software and tools

• Excellent communication and listening skills

• Empathy and the ability to build rapport with clients

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours & Compensation

•This is a full-time position

•The compensation range for this position is $52,500-$60,000/year, DOE

•This position requires some evening and weekend hours
