Do you want to be part of creating systemic changes in the ways in which LGBTQ+ folks engage with the behavioral health care system, seek out resources, and discuss mental health? Do you care about improving health equity and behavioral health outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals in Colorado? Our organization, Envision:You, is focused on supporting, educating and empowering those in Colorado’s LGBTQ+ community living with a mental health or substance use disorder. We are looking for a licensed clinical therapist who is passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community to provide a psychoeducational portion for our workshop-oriented program, “Q is for Questioning.” The intent of “Q is for Questioning” is to support caregivers and adult role models to gain skills to support queer or questioning youth who are navigating their sexual and/or gender identity. We will provide trusted adults opportunities to network and receive support through resources and community building while teaching about ways to support members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Responsibilities for this position include giving a psychoeducational presentation on diverse sexual and gender identities, connecting with caregivers, and answering questions to foster more competent and compassionate understanding of LGBTQ+ youth among parents, guardians, and caregivers. We are looking for a licensed clinical therapist who has the flexibility to travel to various regions in Colorado, with an Envision:You staff member, as necessary to help facilitate these workshops. Those who are accepted will be hired as contractors who will receive paid compensation at $75 per hour for direct contact hours (i.e., workshops) and $35 per hour for indirect contact hours (i.e. internal meetings and training). Contractors will receive a 1099 form documenting income earned through this contract. Mileage and expenses associated with travel will also be reimbursed.
Priority will be given to therapists who have experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and diverse family systems, are active allies for the LGBTQ+ community, and those who have strong public speaking, conflict resolutions, and meeting facilitation skills.
We hope to find a therapist who can bring knowledge, commitment, and fun to the “Q is for Questioning” workshops. We are looking forward to receiving your applications and cover letters.
