Position Summary:
Responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the solutions in the Denver Scholarship Foundation’s (DSF) Salesforce database and applications. This position supports the organization by developing solutions that meet the immediate and long-term business needs of various Salesforce users. These solutions aim to reduce the amount of time Salesforce users spend on data lookup/entry so they can spend more time on face-to-face student support. This position works closely with the Salesforce administrators, Director of Data and Evaluations, and Business Analyst to ensure solutions are valuable and timely. This position reports to the Director of IT.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and build solutions using Apex Classes/Triggers, Lightning Web Components, and flows.
- Maintain existing Salesforce Apex Classes, Apex Triggers, Visualforce pages, and Lightning Web Components independently and in collaboration with Salesforce Administrators.
- Design new and maintain existing forms and form API integrations connected to Salesforce.
- Periodically collaborates with contracted Salesforce Architects and Developers to design and develop major solutions.
- Create and maintain unit tests for code coverage quality
- Stay up to date with new software features and functionality of Salesforce releases and make recommendations for process improvement
- Work with IT business analyst to understand business requirements and provide insight on the limitations of the platform.
- Set expectations with department directors on realistic scheduling for development
- Testing the stability and functionality of the platform and its applications
- Troubleshooting and fixing bugs in collaboration with the Salesforce Administrators
- Assist with release management
- Ultimately decide how technical solutions are developed ensuring the organization is following best practices for security, business operations and long-term scalability
Required Skills
- Able to write and maintain Apex Classes and Triggers
- Able to develop user-facing solutions using Lightning Components, HTML and CSS
- Strong working knowledge of CRM database systems, development/administration concepts, security, and best practices.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining Salesforce flows.
- Strong attention to detail and system documentation practices.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Self-directed, highly organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Advanced knowledge in data cleansing and transformation, importing and exporting, querying, reporting, and analysis.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a Salesforce Developer/Engineer
- Salesforce Platform Developer 1 certified
- Salesforce Platform Developer 2 certified preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining form integrations like Omnistudio, FormTitan, Form Assembly
- Experience utilizing relational databases
- Experience utilizing SOQL in various solutions
- Experience developing and maintaining data integrations using tools like Mulesoft or Tibco
- Bachelor’s Degree in related Computer Science/Technical Communications fields or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a DevOps process using change sets or deployment management tools like Gearset
- Experience assisting staff remotely and in-person
