Position Title: Children, Youth and Family Coordinator
Reports to: Children, Youth and Family Manager
Job Classification: Full-time; Non-exempt
Salary Range: $21.88 – $27.31 per hour

At multiple locations throughout our community, we help restore the lives of people experiencing homelessness and addiction through emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional programs, and community outreach.
The Opportunity:
The Children, Youth and Family Coordinator position is responsible for the Denver Rescue Mission Youth Center site management and will provide program facilitation for transitional housing program’s children, youth and families.
General responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
· The preparation and execution of daily programming and special events with children, youth and families in conjunction with Children, Youth and Family Manager and other coordinator(s).
· Oversee the organization and maintenance of the Youth Center rooms.
· Develop relationships and collaborate with children, youth and families to better understand their needs; communicate these needs, along with possible solutions, to the “Youth
Manager”.
· Maintain regular and effective communication with supervisors and other relevant staff to ensure consistent program application and support of children and youth.
· Attend scheduled meetings, being prepared with any relevant updates or information to ensure maximized meeting productivity.
· Perform other duties that have been identified and assigned through consultation with supervisor.
Program Execution and Coordination:
· Oversee and execute daily programs, including but not limited to programs that offer academic support, free time, Bible studies, weekly workshops, and special events; continuously seek to improve and/or maximize the effectiveness of these program offerings.
· Maintain accurate records and statistics of programs with support of Children, Youth and Family Manager.
· Execute all necessary functions to prepare for programming to include: room arrangement, lesson plans, daily schedules, routines, and transitions as to assure their excellence
and adherence to program policies.
· Meet regularly with children and youth to evaluate progress and goals; track and report status updates to Youth Manager.
· Identify and prioritize materials and equipment needed in courses, incentive store, and classrooms, and coordinate with Director or Manager in making purchases.
· Develop participants/youth spiritually by revealing God’s love for them and presenting them with the Gospel and discipleship.
· Encourage youth to develop spiritually, cognitively, emotionally, socially, behaviorally, and physically in a safe environment.
Staff / Volunteer Supervision:
· Communicate with, support, and manage Youth Center volunteers.
· Communicate with Children, Youth and Family Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to adjust online volunteer postings according to ongoing need.
Minimal Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required in psychology, education, or another relevant discipline, or equal work-related experience with youth andfamilies may be substituted.
· Previous familiarity with trauma-informed care.
· Willingness to learn and work with a population that has struggled with addictions and homelessness.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to model good Christian character.
· Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Active Driver’s License as a limited amount of work-related travel may be required to cover client facilities.
· Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
