Lead Custodian – Evening Shift
Description
Come join the fast paced, hardworking, Custodial Services Team at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science! This position is responsible for providing an exceptional level of cleaning to achieve and maintain a clean, safe, healthy, attractive environment for our guests, volunteers and staff.
This position functions as a lead, when a supervisor is not on duty, by providing work instructions and training to other Custodians.
This position may be responsible for performing specialized cleaning duties requiring use of heavy and technical equipment and supporting special projects as assigned.
Job Class: Full Time
Hiring Range: $22.50 (+ $0.75 Shift Differential + $1.00 Language Differential if Bilingual)

Essential Duties
- Performs daily cleaning procedures in accordance with DMNS cleaning specifications.
- Responsible for performing custodial duties in the following locations: all restrooms, public spaces, offices, studios, elevators, tunnels, hallways, labs, lounges, lunchrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, gift shop, locker rooms and parking garage.
- Fills in for Supervisor as needed.
- Completes daily work orders, delegates daily duties, ensures execution of tasks is successful and closure of work orders.
- Conducts area checks upon completion of work for the team.
- Provides training as needed for other Custodians.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- 6 months of custodial experience required.
- 18 years of age or older required.
- Evening and weekend work required.
- On-call work may be required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to accommodate museum activities required.
Ideal Candidate Will Be/Have
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Experience with floor and carpet cleaning machines and floor extraction techniques.
- Good or exceptional ability at prioritizing tasks, attention to detail, and ability to follow schedules, checklists, and oral instructions.
