ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) is an educational nonprofit organization with a statewide scope. CYC addresses barriers to learning by providing individualized support throughout pivotal stages of students’ education journeys. We provide a continuum of services from Prekindergarten through high school to help students find success through tutoring, case management, and outreach to help in-school youth remain in school or out-of-school youth return to school. We envision an equitable education system where each student has access to resources they need to maximize their own learning and growth. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will work on the Recruitment Team whose main focus is to fill the allotted positions for CYC’s AmeriCorps programs – Colorado Early Learning Corps, Colorado Reading Corps, Colorado Math Corps, and Corps for a Change. The team is responsible for managing the entire recruitment and hiring process, providing support to AmeriCorps members from initial contact to their onboarding.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for managing components of the recruitment process of a diverse team of high-performing AmeriCorps members. This position plays a crucial role in attracting and hiring qualified candidates for over 200+ AmeriCorps positions annually. The Coordinator will collaborate across the organization to ensure effective recruitment campaigns, meaningful storytelling, and consistent social media content creation. In addition, this position will build and maintain relationships with community partners to create a strong candidate pipeline. Must have a solid ability to conduct phone and virtual interviews. This position will coordinate AmeriCorps alumni engagement opportunities. This position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and a passion for supporting education and youth programs. Familiarity with AmeriCorps is a plus. This position is hybrid – requiring candidates to work remotely, in the community, and at our main office in Denver. This is a Denver-based, full-time position with benefits and a rate of $23.08 per hour.
Essential Functions
Member Recruitment
- Recruit and support hiring process for 20 Early Learning Corps, 130 Reading Corps, 40 Math Corps, and 40 Corps for a Change AmeriCorps members.
- Review resumes and applications, determine program eligibility, and review necessary paperwork.
- Act as a point of contact and build influential relationships during the interview process.
- Complete phone interviews with candidates and support second round interviews as needed.
- Conduct follow-up with candidates as needed throughout the hiring process.
- Collaborate with program staff to stay informed on open positions.
- Support program staff with creative solutions to ensure strong member retention.
Maintaining and Developing Systems
- Post AmeriCorps positions on various outlets.
- Maintain online databases and spreadsheets to track applications and interview process.
- Update and manage internal and external systems related to member hiring and onboarding.
- Utilize data to update and build out new systems as needed to improve the recruitment and hiring process.
Community Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with colleges, workforce centers, and other organizations/institutions that may have good candidate pools to create a pathway to serving.
- Attend and host career fairs or service fairs to recruit interested candidates.
Alumni Engagement
- Engage with CYC AmeriCorps alumni to support recruitment efforts and member support.
- Manage alumni mentorship program.
- Coordinate quarterly alumni newsletter.
- Collaborate with development on potential alumni connection points.
Content Creation
- Support with gathering AmeriCorps member stories and experience to create compelling social media content posts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Support with annual member recruitment campaigns.
- Support with planning, scheduling, and completion of photo shoots.
- Create flyers and other materials as needed.

Other Duties
- Attend and participate in staff meetings as required.
- Speak on behalf of the organization and AmeriCorps programs.
- Attend relevant community and school meetings.
- Run errands as needed using personal transportation.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
- Complete required training courses as assigned by CYC.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience working within people-facing roles.
- Strong organization and data tracking skills.
- Ability to build relationships with candidates, staff, alumni, and outside partners.
