AP Specialist

Colorado Public Radio is seeking candidates with AP and/or AR experience who are interested in learning additional accounting tasks such as payroll and credit card reconciliation.

About the Position:

This role, along with another Accounting Specialist already on the team, will support CPR’s financial health by ensuring accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, credit card reconciliation, and other day-to-day accounting tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Both specialists share the preparation of payment data for upload into the accounting system, managing a dedicated AP email, researching previous payments, investigating variances or discrepancies, and processing vendor payments on a weekly basis. They also share identifying and processing incoming donations and sponsor payments, making check deposits, managing a dedicated AR email, preparing monthly billing and invoicing tenants. They assist in bi-weekly payroll, reviewing and approving employee credit card charges, maintaining employee account profiles, monitoring employee expense accounts, and addressing staff inquiries.

This is not a remote position. The Accounting Specialist is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting.

About You:

You are detail oriented and understand the importance of using tools to keep yourself organized and on track. You are able to identify problems and take initiative in finding solutions. You don’t approach work rigidly, but are flexible and adaptable as processes develop and change. You look forward to partnering with multiple departments, helping them efficiently and accurately process financial items. You communicate proactively and patiently because you know the ability to collaborate and maintain trusting working relationships is crucial for addressing inquiries, resolving issues and fostering a culture of excellent customer service. Your ability to manage your time is strong and you’re comfortable with needing to switch between tasks as needed. You value curiosity, accountability, and a growth oriented attitude.
