POSITION SUMMARY
The Intern Program Director recruits, hires, and supervises all COVA Interns. They also serve as the primary point of contact for all Internship Host
Sites. The are available to Interns to facilitate growth, assist in networking, and identify other resources pertinent to their internship experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Intern Program Director is responsible for the following:
· Recruit, interview, and supervise 20+ COVA Interns
· Recruit and screen statewide system-based and community-based victim service agencies to serve as Internship Host Sites
· Oversee the placement process for all COVA Interns
· Work with Internship Host Sites and COVA Interns to enhance the learning experience, solve problems that arise, and ensure victims are served well
· Lead the evaluation of Internship Host Agencies and COVA Interns
· Work statewide in collaboration with colleges, universities and technical schools to facilitate student experience and practicum requirements
· Coordinate monthly intern meetings and in-service trainings
· Collect intern grant reporting statistics and payroll information
· Assist with the Federal and local grants supporting the program, including writing, reporting, and presenting to funders
· Adhere to all grant guidelines and responsibilities through quarterly statistical narrative reports
· Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by the Executive Director to include assistance with conference, membership, development, and marketing/communications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, non-profit management, or related (equivalent experience may be considered)
· Experience in victim service or human services
· Experience managing volunteers and direct-line staff
· Track record of effective work with diverse populations
· Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort with creating and sustaining partnerships
· Proficiency using standard computer systems and databases, including Google and Microsoft programs
· Demonstrated commitment to inclusiveness and diversity
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE
· Bilingual Spanish speaking skills
· Ability to operate independently and seek appropriate guidance
· Extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, victims’ rights, and victim advocacy
· Creative approaches to the recruitment and support of staff from underserved communities in Colorado
OTHER INFORMATION
· Full-time exempt position, working approximately 40 hours/week
· Hybrid office/remote location, with several days in office
· Flexible schedule, with required meetings Some travel to Internship Host Sites, utilizing personal vehicle
