Position Description Summary:
The marketing, communications, and development specialist will report to the development
director, as CLLARO philosophically views development, marketing, and fundraising as being
under the same category. This individual will manage social media initiatives, assist with online
giving and fundraising, assist with grant writing and grant research, will be the primary contact
for CLLARO’s media relations, and will be responsible for marketing CLLARO’s brand among
donors, community partners, and the general community.
Areas of Responsibility:
● Manage CLLARO’s website, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other social media
platforms
● Periodically assist in grant writing as per the directives of the development director
● Collaborate with the development director to develop a comprehensive marketing and
communications brand
● Grow awareness of CLLARO’s mission, programming, and initiatives among the community
● Serve as CLLARO’s primary media contact.
● Conduct grant research
● Draft press releases and media kits
● Assist in CLLARO’s external communications via the general newsletter, newsletter for each
program, and assist with general marketing duties
Qualifications:
• B.A. in marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations is strongly preferred
• At least two years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or
development
• Knowledge of Colorado’s philanthropic landscape and state policy is a plus.
• Prior non-profit experience is a plus.
• Experience in successfully writing and preparing grant proposals and reports is a plus.
• This candidate must be bilingual and ideally confident in writing and communicating in both
English and Spanish.
• Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to tailor messages to a variety of audiences.
• Proficiency in Zoom, Facebook live streaming, twitter, Instagram, google drive, PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with online donor management systems.
• Honesty, integrity, reliability, loyalty to CLLARO’s organizational mission, and ability to
collaborate and work well with others are required.
• Must be able to operate independently.
• A demonstrable passion for social justice and empowering Latinos in Colorado
• Creativity is a must!
