Organization Summary

The Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC), www.coloradoimmigrant.org, is a statewide membership-based coalition of immigrant, labor, interfaith, youth and ally organizations founded in 2002 to build a unified statewide voice to improve the lives of immigrants and refugees in Colorado and the United States. CIRC achieves this mission through non-partisan civic engagement, public education and advocacy to win fair, humane and workable public policies.

This position also supports the Colorado Immigrants Rights Coalition Action Fund (CIRC AF), an affiliated 501(c)(4) advocacy organization. While motivated by the same core values and vision, CIRC and CIRC AF operate independently of one another and each organization has its own board of directors.

Job Summary

The full-time Policy and Campaigns Manager is responsible for successfully executing all electoral and policy advocacy programming and campaigns for Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC) and CIRC Action Fund and related entities. This includes working with the Political Director to research, develop, and carry out chosen policy advocacy campaigns with member-led steering committees to build strong advocacy campaigns that reflect the membership’s priorities and vision. It also includes working directly with the Political Director to develop and oversee the organization’s civic engagement and electoral campaigns. This position will have an important role in ensuring streamlined joint C3/C4 organizing, policy advocacy, and legislator accountability. The ideal candidate has campaign management and policy experience and a proven track record in political field work and issue-based advocacy in immigrant rights and/or social justice work.

CIRC’s policy work is year-round, though the policy efforts do intensify during the Colorado state legislative session which runs from January to May, as well as during national Congressional bill escalations which have more unpredictable timing. Electoral work intensifies August-November.

This role requires a proven record in immigrant advocacy or social justice work, knowledge of advocacy campaigns and/or electoral campaigns. They are a self-starter, and good at problem solving and flexibility. Candidate must be an excellent communicator who is detail oriented and able to build relationships with both elected officials and directly-impacted community stakeholders.
