Contract Network Navigator – La Fresca (CCWB)

The La Fresca Network partners with the Center for Community Wealth Building (CCWB) as it’s fiscal sponsor. The position shall be contracted with CCWB with all deliverables and scope of work specifically and solely for La Fresca.

La Fresca is a food co-operative, composed of neighbors, local corner stores, and local food businesses, supported by community members, all working towards greater food accessibility and a vibrant food economy for Globeville, Elyria and Swansea neighborhoods. We are creating a network of local entrepreneurs, forming a buyer’s club, while educating and supporting businesses, all within the local food system.

La Fresca is looking for an experienced and innovative person to engage as a contract Network Navigator. This individual has passion and patience to work with underserved communities in Globeville, Elyria and Swansea (GES) neighborhoods. The person is self motivated, highly organized, visionary, a problem solver, and oriented towards organizing. The position will work with the community led Steering Committee of La Fresca and execute the work plans developed by the community.The Network Navigator shall have a high level of cultural awareness and a strong appreciation of diversity in all forms.

Scope of work

• Relationship building with the 10 identified stores individually, provide support for the business (as needed) ie: completing forms, online support, research, resources, other
• Hosting monthly Network (collective) meetings, organize logistics, facilitation, track data, research, note taking
• Resource – research resources for business (City of Denver, other)
• Research models – ultimately help the stores lower prices in benefit to the community (round up, bulk buying…)
• Report to the Steering committee on a monthly basis
• Attend weekly check-in with leadership (using tools provided)
• Track and enter all data on the La Fresa drive weekly
• Other, trainings, events

Requirements

• Minimum one year of relevant experience – customer service, community engagement, community navigation, community organizing, working with businesses, other similar experience
• Experienced working in Globeville, Elyra or Swansea or similar demographics
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both writing and speaking
• Has a strong competency in DEI using this as a foundation for the work
• Competent and comfortable using computers, has tech skills and comfortable with Google Suite, email, zoom, other platforms
• Flexible schedule including working evening and weekends
