Purpose: The Director of Development is responsible for leading and executing CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties’ comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual and long-term financial goals. This position collaborates closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Philanthropy Committee to drive donor engagement, secure major gifts and corporate sponsorships, and expand community awareness. The Director of Development will oversee all fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and collaborate on marketing efforts to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
– Experience in prospecting, soliciting and stewarding major gifts from individuals and corporate sponsors.
– Experience in working with staff, board members, volunteers and donors to make connections, identify prospects and create a culture of philanthropy.
– Experience in increasing community awareness through development and distribution of PR/marketing materials.
– Proficiency in donor database management software for tracking and reporting.
– Must be available for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board to increase revenue and meet annual and long-term financial goals.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations to secure financial support.
• Oversee an annual giving program, including direct mail appeals, online campaigns, and corporate sponsorships.
• Manage major fundraising events and campaigns, such as Colorado Gives Day and annual appeals, while developing new revenue-generating opportunities.
• Support the Executive Director and Board by providing timelines, training and presentation materials for fundraising efforts.
• Maintain donor and wealth screening database software (e.g., Bloomerang) for tracking, reporting, and donor acknowledgment.
• Track and report fundraising performance through monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Executive Director.
• Provide training, materials, and support to Board members and staff for donor cultivation and solicitation efforts.
• Liaise with the Philanthropy Committee to support and achieve revenue goals.
• Establish a strong presence in the community by networking and fostering relationships that support CASA’s mission.
• Representing CASA at community events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and fundraising efforts.
• Oversee PR and marketing strategies in collaboration with the Communications Committee and consultants to promote CASA’s mission.
• Increase community awareness through presentations, booths, and participation in local initiatives.
• Collaborate with development teams from other CASA programs to share best practices and strategies.
