Program Director, Maternity Home

Birthline is seeking a Program Director for its Maternity Home:

Birthline of Loveland is seeking a positive, case-managing, accountability-maintaining, spiritually-nurturing Program Director to serve at Birthline’s Maternity Home. This 25 hours/week position is located at the Maternity Home weekday afternoons and some evenings.

The basic responsibilities will be: 

Goal-setting with Guests (pregnant mother residents); maintaining Guest accountability to programs and home rules; volunteer management; program coordination.

• A strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and to sexual purity.

• A clear understanding of and commitment to Birthline’s vision [] and mission for their Maternity Home [].

• A heart for serving women who have experienced difficult life circumstances so as to offer love, care, and emotional and spiritual support.  

• At least three years of course work, ministry, or non-profit experience with vulnerable populations, in a case-management/social-work type role. 

• An undergraduate degree in related field.

• Experience or aptitude for volunteer management. 

• A teachable spirit for learning the intricacies of the ministry and home.  

• A general knowledge of running a household with healthy relational-dynamics and a willingness to patiently teach and share those basics. 

• Capability of providing leadership and spiritual guidance to both Maternity Home Guests and Volunteers.

• Modeling relational and spiritual health in situations of crisis or intensity. 

• Ability to work with online and physical (security system) technologies. 

• Experience in coordinating events and social gatherings. 

• Passing of a Background Check, Level 2.

Essential Functions:

• Create a safe, welcoming, home-like environment and culture of hospitality towards Guests, volunteers, and all who visit the Maternity Home.

• Work with Guests in a caring and non-judgmental manner while maintaining reasonable, healthy personal boundaries, and holding Guests accountable to house-rules.

• Work with each Guest weekly on goal-setting and goal-completion in each of the 7 areas of growth (see Maternity Home mission statement). 

• Help Guests create and maintain weekly schedule, including their employment and its verification.  

• Help Guests create and maintain a personal budget including viewing bank account statements and verification of expenses.  

• Guide and encourage Guests to embrace Rules, Responsibilities, and Expectations outlined in Guest Handbook. Maintain Guest Handbook (updates/edits).  

• Organize and plan program classes for Guests, with volunteers and ministry partners.  

• Help create new program opportunities for Guests. 

• Hold Guests accountable to assigned household duties.

• Plan healthy meals with volunteer help, and post calendar of Guest preparation rotation. 

• Monitor activities of the home and behavior of moms and their babies. 

• Enforce consequences, with consistency; exit Guests from program as necessary.  

• Maintain and update accurate notes of MH activities, conflicts, and occurrences.

• Notify Birthline Executive Director (ED) when major conflicts or incidents occur, and forward documentation and potential follow-up reports.

• Orient new Guests to the house, rules and protocols, and expectations. 

• Ensure there is a 24/7 presence at the Maternity Home, with volunteers and Facility Supervisor (live-in position(s)).  

• Attend weekly MH Steering Team meetings to share progress, needs, and concerns.   

• Help in processing Guest applications and conducting interviews.

Job Type: Part-time, 25 hours/week; M-F; afternoons and some evenings.   

Compensation: $20/hour, 25 hours/week

Work Location: In-person at Maternity Home.
