Position Title: Bikes Together Development Assistant
Hours: Part-time, year round
Pay: $20-22/hour, 15-20 hours a week.
Schedule: Flexible: Tuesday – Saturday suggested. Remote/Hybrid
Purpose: Support a broader foundation of institutional fundraising so that Bikes Together can create accessible and equitable access to bicycles and education in Denver
Reports to: Executive Director
Bikes Together is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes equitable access to bikes and bike education through a variety of recycling and education programs and a social enterprise retail bike shop in Denver, Colorado since 2008.
Bikes Together is excited to meet our new Development Assistant! This person will be detail-oriented, organized, outgoing, and motivated to advance BT’s mission to make bicycle transportation, recreation and mechanics accessible to people who are usually excluded because of race, class, and/or gender. The Development Assistant will work closely with the Executive Director and Development Committee to strengthen and diversify fundraising efforts and support financial sustainability for the organization.
This is a part-time position (15-20 hours/week) and reports to the Executive Director, who is tasked with being the primary fundraiser for the organization.
Bikes Together is currently staffed by an Executive Director, full-time Operations Director, full-time Sales Manager, full-time Service Manager, full-time Programs Manager, full-time Refurbished Bike Mechanic, and 4 part-time Instructors and Mechanics. Current employees work as a team with an education and equity focus. The current Board of Directors includes long-time volunteers, mechanics, instructors, and community advocates, and is majority trans/women/intersex/genderqueer (TWIG) and 45% Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC).
Development Assistant Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Director in implementing a comprehensive development plan that will diversify and increase contributed revenue streams.
Term:
The Development Assistant position will start October 15, 2024 and is budgeted through December 2025, with the opportunity to extend based on success in building the program.
