Accountant II Job Description:
Summary
ainMtains company’s system of accounting by
preparing company monthly, quarterly, and year-end Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheets,
and Cash Flow. Also generates company’s journal entries, month-end close, bank and
general ledger account reconciliations. This position reports to the Controller. Work is performed with limited direction and supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Produces the monthly,
quarterly, and year-end P & L Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow for
the company’s management team, audit committee, and board of directors and
responds to questions regarding same.
- Ensures compliance that
all accounting meets GAAP standards.
- Generates & post month-end journal entries
- Reconciles the majority
of the balance sheet accounts; i.e., Vacation Accrual, Accrued Expenses,
Prepaid Accounts Receivables, etc.
- Creates reports in Great
Plains
- Performs other duties
and special assignments as directed, including assignments that may be
outside the primary area of employment.
- Investment accounting.

Education and/or Experience Required
- Bachelors degree or
equivalent from a four year college or technical school in accounting and
two year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
of education and experience.
- Ability to work with
all levels of management.
- Ability to read, analyzes,
and interprets general business documents such as financial reports, legal
documents, governmental regulations, technical procedures and procedure
manuals.
- Ability to calculate figures
and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages.
- Ability to apply
concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to solve
practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
forms.
- Experience working with
a diverse workforce.
- Ability to work with
individuals possessing developmental disabilities.
