Development Coordinator, Foundations and Grants

Location: Front Range, Colorado/Hybrid (Remote Considered)
FLSA Code: Exempt
Salary Range: $57,000 – $70,500; listed salary range is based on a work location of Golden, CO. Salary will be determined by experience and location; generous benefits package.
As Development Coordinator, you will advance the American Alpine Club’s mission by identifying, cultivating, and securing funding opportunities from grant-making institutions and foundations. You will also play a key role in serving our community as the AAC grants administrator.
Priority will be given to applications received before Monday, September 27, 2023.
As a Development Coordinator, you will:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities and foundations that align with the AAC’s mission and programs.
- Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals, ensuring alignment with each funder’s priorities and guidelines.
- Manage the grants administration process for AAC grants, including tracking deadlines, financial data, reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with donor/funder intent.
- Collaborate with AAC staff to compile the necessary information for grant applications and reports.
- Ensure compliance and reporting for all grant and foundation support the AAC receives.
- Collaborate with AAC staff and volunteers to assess the impact of funded programs and projects, providing data and narratives for grant reports.
- Build and maintain the prospect pipeline for foundation and grants through positive relationship building with national and local foundation representatives and other parties.
- Ensure stewardship of foundation representatives, program officers, and others through consistent communication and acknowledgment of support.
- Collaborate with finance, program, and communications departments to ensure accurate representation of the organization’s activities in grant materials.
- Manage the grants administration process for AAC’s climbing grants, including tracking deadlines, funding, and follow-up reporting.
- Support AAC fundraising events as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned by the VP of Development.

- Are able to work independently and in collaboration with a team
- Competency with Google Suites
- Are experienced and comfortable working within and meeting deadlines
Environment
80% Desk work – Typical office work on a computer utilizing GSuites, Slack, Zoom, and other computer-based programs.
20% Physical work – This position could require some physical work, including assisting with receiving and distributing inventory, setting up and breaking down events, etc. Travel will be required ~5%.
