Early Start Program Manager

This is a seasonal role, in charge of assembling and managing a team of therapists offering life changing interventions for children 5 years old and under and their caregivers. It requires being onsite for 2 weeks for management and administration of the services. (Two weeks of Early Start Program: June 9-13 & July 21-25)

Status: Seasonal Employee

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Denver Metro/Central Location two weeks during summer

Total Compensation: $7,000-$9,000

JOB SUMMARY: Our Early Start Program Manager is responsible for the success of our Early Start Program providing half-day intensive multidisciplinary therapy program for children 6 months to 4 years old with developmental disabilities.  The Program Manager is vital to the program running and staying strong summer after summer.

The Early Start Program Manager is a seasonal role, as the Early Start Program runs for 2 weeks in the summer, 1 week in June and 1 week in July.  This role requires understanding the Adam’s Camp/Interdisciplinary model, interviewing/hiring therapists before the start of camp, as well as be a part of post camp calls/debriefs for the caretakers of the children we serve.  This position also requires the candidate to be onsite for the duration of camp.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

CAMPERS AND FAMILIES
Work with the Program Team to navigate our intake system
Access our intake system and connect with families to find campers who would be a good fit for our program
Review camper confirmation letter for Early Start Campers
Review the camper applicants and connect with families to enroll the campers who would be a good fit
Establish appropriate therapy space for the weeks of the Early Start Camp by making partnerships in the community to receive space either for free or at a lower cost.
Provide communication (calls and emails) to parents about details of camp, including answering follow up questions

HIRING OF STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
Receive access to all Therapist and Volunteer applicants and review those that have been interviewed and communicate with the Programs Team about the character of the applicants that were interviewed.  
Interview and hire the appropriate candidates for camp (including Leads for each group, therapists as needed by discipline and volunteers)
Process all the hiring paperwork with the hiring team

TRAINING
Train the Therapists and Volunteers in the Early Start protocols:
Lead Therapists vs. Therapist vs Volunteer roles
Therapy Group set up and daily rotations
Goals and expectations
Teaming and Parent Conferences

PRIOR TO CAMP
Send reminder emails as needed to confirm schedules, location, needed personal items, etc. to staff, volunteers and caregivers 
Communicate as needed with caregivers and staff to answer questions and problem solve issues
Purchase needed materials and snacks needed for each camp week with dietary restrictions in mind.
Communicate with Leads to ensure teams are prepared and camper calls were made with the families
Become familiar with the equipment and material specifically for the Early Start program in the Adam’s Camp storage unit
Schedule transportation to move needed items to/from the therapy space prior to camp starting.

CAMP MANAGEMENT
Ensure Lunches are ordered for staff and are delivered/set up
Greet caregivers and staff each day and offer welcoming setting including coffee etc.
Offer a Parent Breakfast one morning with a presentation, parent sign up for conferences, and determine appropriate time to review camper goals early in the week
Ensure daily teaming takes place in a manageable time frame with the therapists and volunteers.
Virtual reports, a snapshot of the week with suggestions with recommendations to follow up
Virtual reports must be completed by the Friday virtual conferences (attend most, if not all) 
Manage teams as needed to ensure a positive work environment 
Ensure all medical procedures/needs are clear and implemented including allergies
Manage Friday caregiver/staff virtual meetings

FOLLOW UP
Review and make changes based on staff/caregiver surveys
Attend Adam’s Camp Board Meetings when asked.
Write Reference Letters/Letters of Recommendations for staff when requested
Recruit as needed for staff, campers and volunteers at events

Knowledge and Skills:
Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to both lead a collaborative team work collaboratively with a team
Able to communicate and explain processes and procedures
Able to communicate with parents of children with disabilities
Computer Skills (Google, Smart Sheets)
Leadership and management skills for 10+ people

Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in early childhood or a Therapy Discipline
At least 3 years experience working with children and families of children with disabilities.
