At Adam’s Camp, unique therapy and adventure programs are designed and delivered by dedicated therapists and counselors who help special needs children, youth and adults reach for the stars. These programs are combined with sibling and parent offerings that address the needs of the entire family and have created an amazing and supportive community for our participant families, our partners, and our sponsors. Our flagship program is a 6 week summer camp offering Adventure and Therapy Camps in Granby, CO.
The Adventure Camp Program Manager is responsible for the success of our Adventure Camp program, providing week-long sleep away camp and recreation opportunities for youth and young adults with developmental disabilities. Programs include: 6 weeks of summer programming at YMCA of the Rockies- Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, CO; day program events throughout the year, and 1 fall weekend program event. Be advised, additional weeks of programming are likely. Candidate must be present for all camp sessions.
1. Ensure the accurate and efficient preparation, organization and dissemination of all program records and documentation.
2. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all necessary county and state regulations.
3. Oversee program budget, ensuring that proper documentation is provided for all expenses.
4. Attend all camp sessions to provide management to camp counselors and support staff; to oversee activities and ensure the safety and success of the Adventure Camp program.
5. Oversee facility and outside activity coordination.
6. Ensure daily records and required reports are done properly and in a timely manner.
7. Ensure proper protocols and procedures are followed in managing crisis during camp.
8. Support the Kitchen staff at camp to ensure food is ordered, picked-up on time, and taken to the cabins daily while up at camp, while staying within budget and meeting dietary needs.
9. Support Nursing Staff to ensure campers have their necessary medical needs met while at camp. Assist in the training of all nursing staff and nursing students prior to camp.
1. Responsible for timely recruitment of counselors and support staff.
2. Screen and hire quality counselors and support staff.
3. Ensure counselors are being background checked and completing trainings in compliance with the State of Colorado Licensing requirements.
4. Plan and implement training for all counselors and support staff.
5. Supervise and support counselors and support staff while at camp and other programming events.
1. Develop and sustain meaningful relationships with community providers with whom Adam’s Camp partners for provision of services.
2. Develop and sustain relationships with schools and other agenciesconnected to campers and potential campers.
1. Responsible for ensuring the constant review and improvement of all program-related processes to achieve maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
2. Maintain Adventure Camp program policies and procedures.
3. With Director of Operations, review evaluations from camp sessions (counselor, support staff, family, and volunteer); analyze results and implement appropriate changes.
4. Plan & implement new program offerings including, but not limited to overnight and day programs.
5. Create program guide outlining program and responsibilities to be used across sites.
1. Work with Board Committees as needed.
1. Provide admin and logistical support for the Adventure program.
2. Prepare team books, maintain camper files, manage incident reports.
3. Ensure smooth and complete registration process for families.
4. Create weekly camp schedules based on availability with the YMCA and NSCD
5. Coordinate with the Therapy Camp Manager on ordering camp t-shirts and other merchandise within budget.
6. Manage Adventure Camp SmartSheet data and dashboards.
7. Work with families on camper paperwork and medications.
8. Manage Adventure staff paperwork and hire documents.
9. Coordinate with Director of Finance on all Adventure Camp program payments.
