PSC Partners Seeking a Cure is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, advocacy, and support for those impacted by primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) — a rare, progressive liver disease with no known cure.
Our mission is to drive research, build a strong community of support, and ultimately find a cure for PSC. We are committed to fostering hope, raising awareness, and empowering patients, caregivers, and medical professionals.
Role Overview
The Marketing & Communications Manager for Development will play a key role in supporting PSC Partners’ mission by creating and implementing strategic communication initiatives to engage donors, promote fundraising events, and strengthen relationships with our community. This position will work closely with the Development team to craft compelling content, execute campaigns, and enhance the visibility of our programs and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Campaign Management:
- Develop and implement donor-focused communication strategies, including email campaigns, newsletters, and annual appeals.
- Write compelling content that highlights the impact of PSC Partners’ mission, research advancements, and donor contributions.
- Collaborate with the Development team to produce promotional materials for fundraising events, including graphics, brochures, and digital content.
Digital Media Management:
- Maintain and update the PSC Partners website with fresh content related to fundraising initiatives and development efforts.
- Coordinate and schedule social media campaigns to promote fundraising events and donor engagement.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of digital campaigns to improve effectiveness and reach.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship:
- Assist in creating personalized donor stewardship materials, such as thank-you letters, impact stories, and donor reports.
- Work with the Development team to cultivate and strengthen relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Support the planning and execution of donor recognition and appreciation events.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain a communications calendar to ensure timely and consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Assist in drafting grant proposals, applications, and post-award reporting, as needed.
- Support donor database management and tracking of communication metrics to measure engagement and effectiveness.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit communications, development, or donor relations.
Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms, website content management systems, and social media scheduling tools.
- Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of or experience with rare diseases or healthcare-focused nonprofits.
- Familiarity with donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Passion for advancing the mission of PSC Partners and connecting with the PSC community.
